ok, unfortunately you’re right. I’ve tested in training mode…you cannot option select d.mp ~ lp+lk, It comes a grab.
But I surely can say b.mp beat all dives kick but not grab or low attacks.
Anyone have tested FA lv.1? In training mode works well (not in the corner).
Ya, when you are in the corner against Rufus you are under a lot f pressure, the less damaging option would be eating a throw.
I’m managing sometimes to escape corner by teleporting, but you have to be sure that Rufus ins going to jump for a dive kick. Then you can double teleport (firt one to get out of the corner, second one to go back half screen) to gain some breathing room.
But to win you cannot be put in the corner in the first place. Even some ryskis IATs are better, as he’ll usually just s.LP you outta the air and begin the dive kick pressure in the middle of the screen (by far better than being put in the corner)
For this matchup I just block if I’m in the corner, and look out for throws until he’s been pushed to out of jab range. Then I either get ready to mk slide past him or poke, you can crouch block quite comfortably since his overheads arent good. Low dive kick will catch you on slide, but you should be out of range at this point anyway so it wont be used. One thing that actually does catch me when i do this is ex galactic tornado sice the instant suction has high range.
Think I can take back what I said earlier (if I did say anything D:), I really freakin hate this match up and is probably worse than any of his other 6-4 match-ups. Dhalsim’s rewards for punishing a dive kick aren’t nearly enough for what rufus can do to you if he manages to dive kick you. Even being half-started with their combo, they can easily throw you and you have to be very psychic to tech throw or not, and rufus’s throws do hurt. EX-Yoga blast on wake-up on the dive kick works, but trade’s hits and does not give you nearly enough time to get out of the corner without being raped by another dive-kick combo/target combo/ultra. Every attempt you try to make to get out is very risky.
The only saving grace in this match is that he doesn’t have any awesome wake-up reversals (can’t remember if EX-messiah goes through ultra or not, I hope not :/) if you do manage to actually knock him down, but considering he’s in the air a lot at a good angle, it’s incredibly hard to knock him down and generally that’s probably going to be your best bet of getting all the damage other than counter poking. Messiah kick is punishable too on block unless they fadc backwards, so that would probably be one of the best times to pull off your BnB.
Throwing the new ultras out for a second, everything else changed in Sim’s favor. I don’t really know what to think about Rufus’ new ultra yet, though. I’ll have time to session out with a local rufus player in a couple days.
This match will still probably be in favor of Rufus with dive kick. He still has so many confirms into Ultra I that will happen if you screw up once despite his damage nerf :/. Missing ultra II would probably give him a J. HK into ex snake strike unless you are close enough to the ground.
This match feels much more even in super than it did in vanilla. Rufus having less health and damage nerfs make it pretty fair on both sides. Sim now has the tools to keep him out, and the damage to make Rufus think about how he advances with more caution, so Rufus needs that big damage that he has to make it count if he can get in.
I dont’ know how much the Rufus U2 is good vs Sim. U1 is still lethal.
Same thought about Shangrila… It’s not easy to use vs falcon kick, I need more tests.
However I agree the matchup will be better because the EX flame now does 40 more dmg, the s.hp and j.hp 5 more damage.
c.mp stuffed my (Rufus’) Divekick ~ s.lk s.lk walk Divekick setup (stays out long enough for dive to run into it).
C.MP (the one where he just puts out his hand in a straight line while crouching, I think it’s C.MP) will force rufus to do things other than divekick divekick.
I’m personally having better luck sticking to U1 on this matchup, but I still such with U2. Grabbing him out of dive kicks is really hit or miss for me right now.
When I have been playing against Rufus I always get caught in his U2. So am I just screwed when i want to teleport out of the corner when he has it, or just try to teleport past it. Not to say I am not zoning and everything, but it just frustrating heh An opinions
yeah your telling me I can’t stand that U2 but I am going to have to get around is somehow heh. my buddy is pretty good but he is playing sakura now I believe which will be a nice change of pace
