Wavedash into range, overhead assist, spam c.M?
I’d love to see some of your tournament footage Young, since all you seem to do is dismiss other posters opinions due to your assumption that they play online… Maybe you’re just mad because there is no “online” in Alaska
This guys has gotta be trolling
What style of Sentinel do you play?
I was just curious. In what way do you guys play Sentinel? I mainly use him as a zoning/punishment character. I typically zone with spit, dash back and forth, and try to keep them back with fly/unfly/sj Bs. My pressure game with him is pretty lacking right now. I’ve seen some good fly/unfly pressure from certain people. But great Sentinels are pretty rare.
I also love to use my armor moves to catch whiffs. So I move around a lot, and try to go in and out of flight mode to bait out attacks. My Sentinel is pretty movement heavy.
I typically start Sentinel and use Magneto disrupter assist to zone across the screen, and use Hulk gamma crush assist to push them back out.
What style do you use?
It really depends on who I’m up against and which assists are still alive. I do Akuma/Skrull/Sent usually.
If you’re up against someone who wants to stay at medium to far range, Akuma’s overhead mixed with Sent’s c.M is a great set up assuming you can cover your way in with stone smite. Stone smite -> dash in -> overhead -> c.M is awesome, especially when you mix it up by stopping your dash short and vomiting lasers.
If I’m playing against a rushdown character, I mostly use assists as bait while backing away into either HSF or beam spam. Bomb drones with Skrull on his tenderizer assist is also a great way to have a giant “Don’t Stand Here” zone through most of the screen too.
My overall skill is still pretty intermediate though, I need more practice to figure out better ways to open people up.
Lol, to bad I’m in Philly, and Alaska has way better people than you in SF, T6, and Mahvel.
Because he’s my old friend from MvC2, and I’ll be loyal to him even after getting totally fucked by Capcom and whiny scrubs.
I play Sentinel because his drones assist works well with Spencer crossup gimmicks and DHC Trick trick with Spencer + HSF DHC combo = rape your lifebar. That and it is amusing how people from my experience so far deal with H & cr.H spam with Doctor Doom Hidden Missiles assist.
I played Sentinel because in Street Fighter IV I played Gen. Not a really TERRIBLE character, but not a very easy one to play. Then Capcom dropped Super and decided to buff all the low tier characters. All the low tier characters except for Gen, who got nerfed. Nerfed in many strange and upsetting ways. When I heard about Sentinel for MvC3, I knew he was going to be terribly imbalanced, and I made certain I let everyone know. I didn’t expect to be able to play him. Somehow, I found that Sentinel was not only playable, but relatively EASY for a former Gen player. Whereas I was used to not being able to make a mistake and having no safe options with Gen, Sentinel is EVERYTHING THAT GEN WASN’T, and I quickly rose to 9th Lord on day 1 and have maintained a 65-75% win ratio all the way until now.
It’s everyone else’s turn to whine about character imbalance, I’m at the top this time. I don’t care that I’m playing a character who has failed to be relevant for the last decade, he gets shit done.
strictly because he says slaughter and kill to no end
LOLOL you mentioned your online rank like it actually matters…
With Gen, online wins are almost an impossibility. It matters to me. As soon as there’s even a hint of lag, Gekiros become impossible to finish, the incredibly difficult links become undoable links, and mk to hands is just plain stupid hard. I’ve had to work for my Super online rank so goddamn hard with Gen at the helm, and once I started using Sent, I’ve just soared into the higher ranks immediately and without effort. That’s why I mention it.
I play Sentinel because he works amazingly well as an assist to Arthur. If/when Arthur dies, Sentinel can easily handle opponents on his own.
Also, I like his voice.
mmhmm. this.
A high rank/bp/pp/whatever is cool when its with a character on the level of SSF4 Gen but when youre talking about a character who is clearly S tier its not too much to brag about, especially when your saying a 65-75 % win percentage. Thats kinda low IMO
honestly I don’t like the game enough to practice it a lot, and sentinel gives me the best chance to win. he looks pretty cool too
I play him as the S type.
Jumping S in the air, standing S on the ground.
Crouching M into S.
(Neautralize)^2 into S.
A victory well earned. S-rank!
It’s better for defense. Drones is better for offense.
imo
The real sentinal trailer

Fuck, that was hilarious.
Because i basically suck in fighting games, and having Sentinel seems to be the easiest way for me to win at least one (out of 3…) characters in a round…
Oh, and hi guys. My first post here.
