Shut up! - The Sentinel Thread

i know why you scrubs seem to think so, but I don’t know why in practice, as all ive seen are people getting owned trying to play him like it’s mvc2 and then getting butthurt when he gets rushed the fuck down.

To be more serious:
Good zoning with H
Very good damage
Very good range
Armor on S
Best life
Fly
Fucking good dashes (and wavedash too)

More?

edit: oh and lol, special grab with fucking good range too and combo after in corner (700k with 1 meter)

as i said, i dont care about your theory fighter. dont tell me, show me.

sorry, playing on xbox live.

730k after special throw:

BTW, you can wavedash -> special throw, way more effective than the kara throw

Stop flaming, you’re looking ridiculous.
If you don’t understand why Sent is really strong you probably suck at this game or you are intellectually limited (or both).
Otherwise if you are looking for a challenge just go to an off line tournament and show everybody that you are the best.

Go get 'em champ!

ah so already we are down from “S Tier” and “Broken” to “really strong”. In a couple days is it going to be “kinda strong” ?

see it’s funny I like to do this real moron thing, it’s called thinking. people keep saying sent is tops, but no one is proving it. did justin win the WNF tourney with Sent? How could he not? And yet…

Ammy is pretty much Anti sent if she manages to get you in a corner. safe block strings, grab threat, slow mo special, and laying paper for days.

I think sentinel is the best char in the game but i also think you should stop saying bullshit in this thread.

does nobody really have an answer to this?
sentinel doesn’t really scare some people like he used to
in fact people might be more afraid of dante then they are of sentinel

Why are you here trying to fight people?

I’ve been trying to find some new things to do with sent (what with them flyin’s and whatnot) but the most efficient strat going for me right now appears to be: create clusterfuck with assists, while large explosions happen, use that sexy armored launcher, which generally combo’s into round win.

Totally agree sent’s up at the top, cuz when a fella like me (still pretty new to capcom fighters in general) is able to all kill a team with only sent, then somethings up.

i second this post

well one of the guys on my friends list complained about the big robot tonight and said “Man The Only Reason you won was because of sentinel”

I don’t understand why you’re so defensive. What huge stake do you have with Sentinel that makes you want him to stay the way he is so bad? I’m not trolling im genuinely curious. Does it just piss you off when the masses start hating on a character ala Vanilla SFIV Sagat style?

Anyways what scares me is when day 1 pros are already calling him broken and are looking for strategies SPECIFICALLY designed to beat sentinel (if any exist). Someone had even said “At this point you are going to need at least 1 anti-Sentinel character on your team” (may have been Justin Wong, I don’t remember which video it was from) When it gets to a point where you need to always have a counter sentinel character on your team theres a big problem.

sentinel has the gief thing going for him. viscant made a post a while back about how sf4 gief was so ridiculous because he was easy to use and everyone knew what he did right off the bat, whereas other characters it would take some time to figure out… such as viper.

sentinel is very strong. but he has his fair share of problems like dealing with instant overheads that other characters dont, and just generally getting his shit rushed down. trish’s peekaboo trap owns him up for damn near free when used as an assist for rushdown (if he stands he will get put into major blockstun, he cant jump or fly and cant walk forward) and that trap stays out forever. i’m not saying that he isnt op at this time. just that he really looks to get weaker as the game progresses. if a wolvie gets in on sentinel or an ammy or even a deadpool, sent is generally going to get rocked cause all those characters have unseeable instant overheads on him that can be done from a decently far range. and finally hes not as bad at this time if you actually have respect for what he can do. which means that you have to “zone” him and his frying pan/ stomp range and make sure that you make it as hard for him to land one of those. which is basically to say to attack him smartly, not stupidly.

i still think that the best thing hes got going for him is his crouching M, and when people learn to deal with that i think he’ll have a much harder time getting damage… right now people eat crouching M almost for free… enjoy it while it lasts.

holy shit…! thats fucking awesome…!

how does sentinel deal with a barrage of projectiles from people and they’re assists. he deals with it the best so far on my team but I would like to know if there is any specific strategies to improve this.

j.S>s.M>S>M, M>S>L rocket punch>HSF>launch>M>M>Hard drive the 2nd M is inconsistent with short people or is it just me?

also in the same staple j.S>s.M>S>M, M>S>L rocket punch>HSF>launch>M>M><can anything be added here other than the super If i had no meter?>

I just have hated what capcom did with MSS overall. No nerfs, added tools, gave them easier combos and inputs. Its ridiculous, i didnt buy MvC3 so i could see the same 3 characters over and over again. Its way more balanced then MvC2, but Sentinel basically dominates everyone, midscreen normals, super armor, easy combo supers, most HP in the game, zoneing drones stay on once sentinel summons them, its atrocius. I dont want to play a game where i have to have an anti Sentinel-character just to have fun in MvC3. So atrocious, If they Had to give us the big three, they should have nerfed them alot harder then they did.

i am stuck on who should be the third member of my team
i already have taskmaster and sentinel

any ideas?

Dante with jam session.
