I have this crazy idea right now that V.Joe could really be a pain for him as well. I mean the little fuck probably ducks over half of his moves already, he has got the most BS overhead ever, plus I can’t imagine getting hit by that Slow Super is gonna be good for Sent.
Also Chris has that prone position move. He can just fire on his ankles all day long with a good AAA.
Fortunately, any good team with Sentinel on it won’t just be Sentinel alone. So it’s not like you won’t have options in dealing with nuisances. It will also probably rather rare seeing a team of nothing but characters that are there specifically to harass Sentinel alone that will also be strong against whoever else you pair him up with. Modok, Dorm, Magneto, Wekser, Iron Man, Chris, Joe, Deadpool, Amaterasu and maybe Doom seem like they would give him the most trouble. Too early to speculate on Jill and Shuma.
If you’re looking to play casually, have fun! If you’re looking to get more serious with the game, this is a terrible idea to be honest. A team consisting of only the same character type (in this case, 3 giants) will be susceptible to hard counters, particularly by zoning characters.
lol never even thought about that, that should be fun to see. I mean he is a tad bit slow already, after getting hit by that slow hyper he might just start moving in reverse. Plus with the removal of universal super armor you’ll probably need a very good get off me assist with him. But I guess it makes sense, sents primarily a keep away character and joes rushdown so they should counter each other, sent should give him hell keeping him away and joe should give him hell when he gets in.
I’m not really liking the damage scaling on that combo. It seems you could do more damage with simpler BnB, Super, XFC, Super then having to spend all of that meter doing one fancy combo. Granted, it could just be Sentinel’s high health.
I think it’s more good for taking apart and using the pieces in other combos.
might be one of the best characters in the game hands down… bomb assist is cheap!
Does Sent still have fast fly?
his fly is not as good as mvc 2 at all. you can only do like jump magic series fly magic series type stuff
Good god! The eventhub comments and forums are exploding with rage over Sentinel, calling him cheap and OP already. I aint going to main him, but I know almost all the scrubs who are complaining about him will be using him when the game 1st comes out, until they find a better character.
It reminds of how they all screamed when Dudley was shown, they all said he was going to be top tier in SSFIV, some even stated how they knew people who knew people who played the final version of SSFIV. lol eventscrubs!
Back to Sentinel, I love some of his win quotes so far like “Termination mode, activated. Search and destroy…search and destroy…search and destroy…” pretty badass.
How long does fly last?
There’s no doubt that Mr. Crazy Fastfly Stomp 'Em in the Nuts Sent is no longer with us for MvC3, but I still think he looks strong as fuck in his new incarnation. He’s gonna be spending a lot more time blocking than stomping, but if he gets a good look he’s gonna eat low-health characters for breakfast. Sent on the defensive isn’t going to be a big liability in this game because (a) however crazy MvC3 offense will get, it will never equal the raw speed levels of MvC2, which means Sent faces much less intense rushdown to defend, and (b) there’s already dozens of assists in the game that look like they’d synergize very well with a zoning Sent. And of course he’ll still be a CRAZY good support character by way of his assists and DHC.

dude… he is probably the best character in the game. We have been having this discussion in my house for the past 2 days of play. His combos are dumb good, still has armor on 3 or 4 normals including his launcher… can run away and rush down… freaking CoTA command grab. You are going to see him on every team
A lot of people in eventhubs and unity are making the assumption that Mags, Storm, and Sent are top tier characters bcs they were top tier in MVC2. Now all 3 look really strong but so does 80-90% of the cast in MVC3 but who knows what will happen in 10 years with the tier listing and how much of the cast will be turned obsolete. Capcom is definitely not going down that route and there’s always patching as much as we love/hate it.
Still, I get a good laugh at eventhubs and unity forums crying. There was a thread at unity where some people wanted a no assist online mode bcs people thought mvc2 was just assist spam. Then there’s people who refuse to play against people who use MSS bcs it’s “poor sportsman ship to use top tiers” as if they know who the top tier characters are already.
we all know its really dumb to talk about tiers now. A few of us have the game but like the above post no one knows what will happen in years… I dont think this game is going to last 10 years… but we will see.
It is clear that sent has advantages that other characters don’t. Thats clear as day. MSS was the first team picked. While the characters themselves are good, they lack the team synergy they had in mvc2. With the storm sent dhc. Still solid though but they are better team members for them now i think
No doubt he is great, but I wonder if people are ignoring the virtues of many other cast members in favor of what is somewhat familiar. Personally, he has had a spot on my team since Lupinko’s list was proven to be true; I’m just not sure if I would rather use Sentinel Force or Air Raid as my assist. I know Air Raid is the new hot, but Sentinel Force just seems so useful for Dormammu.
Who are you running as your full team right now? I would absolutely adore insight regarding my above dilemma.

I am actually trying to think of a team name hahaha. mag wesc sent im running so far. The gun assist with wesker adds to magnus combo ability for re launch. And sent is sent hahah. I use drone bombs only to keep lock down for my magnus rush down. Its a situational assist. Depends on who your playing like you said.
edit****8 stomp pressure isnt really good. His fly isnt as quick and feels almost sloppy when flying. Your limited on flight time too
Other than those claiming they knew people who had played the final version of SF4, Dudley really was quite a bit stronger prerelease wasn’t he? Some of those claims may have been justified, but in the end he was neutered.
You mean kind of like Sent/Dante/Storm? There may be other alternatives to Storm on this team, but I’m not really seeing any downside with her on a team that can either rushdown or zone. Her hyper alone makes her worth it, but that’s not all she has.
IIRC Pretty much everyone thought Dudley was going to be top tier in SSF4, even on SRK. And regarding Sentinel, he does seem like a pretty solid character, but yeah top-tier? I guess some people there are stuck in the MvC2 days.
