The reason we got Sentinel is because MvC2 fans like sentinel.

and the reason MVC2 fans liked him was because he was one of the best characters in that game
you either loved sentinel or you hated him depending on which side of the road you were on(a sentinel player or just a sentinel victim)
If you think any serious player would give half a shit if Sentinel wasn’t in the game and basically cloned into Ultron, you are delusional as fuck.
If Youtube didn’t exist you would not care even an inkling if Ultron were in above Sentinel. You’re just lying to yourself if you deny it.
I just looked up pics of Ultron and he doesn’t seem as bulky as Sent. Sent’s animation makes you almost feel like he weighs a shitload and that’s part of why I liked sentinel. Despite how weighty he looked, he was like a fucking wasp ready to strike. Yeah, Ultron does look bad ass but I know if he were a clone and Sent weren’t in, I’d still miss Sent
The reason why mvc2 fans like sentinel is because he’s extremely fun to play and has tools and fight mechanics that basically no character in a fighting game has had before or since. If the rest of MvC2’s cast was buffed so that they would be able to compete with Sent more easily, he would still be one of the most fun and interesting characters to play as.

Sentinel is a badass, unique character design. I’m ASS at Marvel, never even used Sentinel and I just love the character design. There’s never been another character even SIMILAR to his crazy ass playstyle. And if they added Ultron with Sentinel moves thousands of people would have raged and that’s a fucking fact.

Sent coming into MvC3 was a big thank you to keeping MvC2 alive.
Everyone who bailed on it probably hated Sent so this works as “F### You” to them as well.
I’m glad Niitsuma put gameplay first because the way Sent plays is unlike any other.

Yeah, after the gameplay of Ultron, hitbox discovered and even more salt. Think of a Sentinel with a normal hitbox, imagine the tears.
The only reason Japan even likes Shuma so much is because of a mis-translation that labels it as a “she.”

Except you can create a character just like it using a different Marvel character. The exact same hitboxes, frame data, everything… just with an actual character, not canon fodder.

Do you really think people who love MvC2 who aren’t braindead scrubs think it NEEDS to be Sentinel? I fucking play Sentinel in MvC2 and I’m saying Ultron should have made it in instead. It’s not the year 2000 and they don’t need to recycle sprites this time. There’s just a language and production design-point barrier. I highly doubt that Sentinel was a suggested character from Marvel, especially considering we’ve been told SKill had a hand in getting Magneto, Storm, and Sentinel in.
Capcom Vancouver should have been given the job. At least if the developmental team was Western we would have had a chance of getting a reasonable cast. Utterly insane choices like Sentinel, Trish, and Shuma would have never been considered had that been the case.
