So, unless you travel in 3’s you’re kinda screwed for the tourney? Meaning you can’t just come from outta town and enter the tourney to make a name for yourself. Instead, you either travel with a team in mind meanign you shoudl be involved with the community or you get a random team with people you dont’ know too much about. hrmmmmm nice evolution there.
Plus wheres cvs2? Instead theres a game half of the community doesn’t even know about.
i heard that one of the main organizers hates cvs2 so it was left out. If this is true thats a real bitch move and im not going.

I noticed a lot of the GG players tend to be more open ended people. It’s nice that GG is coming out with something new everytime you turn your head around but it has its disadvantages as well.

I kind of agree with you on that point.
A good example on one of these disadvantages would be this tournament.
GG:AC is arcade only for the moment and nothing has been said about a console release, yet this tournament is going to host GG:AC only and not Slash. With that said, everyone right now is more familiar with Slash due to its console release, and not everyone really has the opportunity to play GG:AC at all.
The format looks very exciting !! Good luck with the event Ranma !! I’m sure Showdown this year is going to be insane.

Yeah…Accent Core is better for the Japanese market. We can play it here but it’s limited to like 3 arcades and everyone else has to wait for the “eventual” PS2 release.

its actually because its not in the SBO line up and marvel is only involved because of its american following.

With ST and MvC2 on the list im going to call it complete BS, where is AE anyways? that is in the SBO lineup. I know what you are trying to say but 2 out of 3 of those games dont even have an console release yet and its unfair to alot of people that are going to travel just to get their asses handed to them by the handful of players that actually have access to those games. Its not like adding 1 more game is going to hurt but whatever, me and smooth are not attending this.
PS: i already know the owner of planetzero is a jap fanboy and hates cvs2 with a passion.

If the tournament is only running friday and saturday, wouldn’t that leave all sunday for someone outside of showdown to run CvS2 at the hotel or find some place around there?
i think the whole point is that the game’s being hated on for no good reason. everything else is being run except for cvs2 plus it wont be an official tourney

Sunday is basically “Free Day” all Showdown events will be over.
Chill with your friends, play some games, hang out.
I’m sure the tourney directors had their reasons for dropping CvS2 - doesn’t matter if those reasons are good or not. That is just something they wanted - not gonna change.
Showdown is trying something different. They might have something venue-wise that is nicer than anything NOT Evo.
I really hope some people don’t miss out on what is going to be a very fun event just because Showdown will be very different from the prior years.
