I really dont understand the IGN method hate
it was cheaper, faster, and more efficient
wait 3-4 weeks for a match to come up on ign or 4 months for the dvds?
Shit that’s some wishful thinking right there. Didn’t it take months and months last time before everything was relased?. In fact, did they ever finish releasing everything? I remember them having issues.
edit:: please correct me if I’m wrong btw, I didn’t do the IGN thing last year due to bandwidth issues so I don’t know first hand.

Sadly not very much, and they took too much time doing it (a few weeks, if I’m not wrong).
But that was the first time. I really hope this time to take a lot less time (otherwise it will feel like an insult. Like: we paid and we have worse service than the ones who didn’t pay?).
Right now it’s 65 to 5. I think there is definitely interest in the DVD’s. I’m sure if there was an official poll the results would be similar. I just hope the staff knows that if they decide to make EVO DVD’s again this year, you already have 65 customers.
DVDs get my vote for sure… IGN stuff is faster and all that but nothing compares to a physical EVO dvd that you can keep and rewatch no matter how bad your internet connection is… nothing can match the commentary and the roars of the crowd in the backround matching up to the action on screen… and i also say we need some more options on the dvd this time around nothing too fancy just pregame player profiles, maybe some interviews or a floor video, stuff like that is always so fun to watch and be a part of… the older dvds were so juicy… the 2k8 dvds only had a set of MVC2 money matches and some 3rd Strike matches all fo which were really good but offered no real depth
… i know it’s more work, more expensive, and more time consuming but i humbly request DVDs for this year’s tournament… given the insentive i’d gladly pre order a set no problem…

The problem with IGN was that the organization was absolute dogshit. You could find top 16s easily, but if you wanted to check out some pool play matches, good fucking luck tracking it down. Like I said previously, I have no problem with IGN doing it again, provided they can actually organize shit and put videos up when they say they will this time, but if it’s gonna be the same ol shit, then DVDs for sure.
I’d also like to see the EVO trailers come back for the dvd’s. Always looked forward to watching those.
btw, 2k5 has the best trailer.

Another supporter of…HELL YES! here. Also no bullshit I’d drop some serious coin on evo 2k10 DVDs. Not sure what anyone else would drop for these to happen but maybe you put together like a package of like a evo elite bundle with the DVDs with matches and bonus footage/interviews/non tourney hype matches. offer it up with possibly a shirt from the event since I can’t make it and would love to get a shirt from the event. No bullshit to those in charge and I think I speak for a majority here that would drop serious coin to make this elite evo bundle happen. Hell you can even throw in one of those stick sacks providing there’s any left or pretty much anything else you do have that has evo 2k10 on it. Thank you to all involved in making this happen (hopefully paying very close attention to this thread). Either way this is the absolute last year that I miss out on going but since I’m unable to make it this year and will be confined to stream monster status for this evo but next evo I’ll be there and again will do as much as possible to support the event. Thanks for your time. (those who are in charge/that can make this shit happen)
I think that the online download was a great idea it’s just ign didn’t do a great job.A lot of people felt with ign’s track record they would drop the ball but then honestly who at that time could handle an event that big at the time? That being said the community has people like levelup, fadc, and others who maybe can handle the production and we could pay to download on srk? That being said we still got more content than would be possible on a dvd and was more cost effective for evo and us.

EVO has been so fantastic this year, and its not even top 8 yet! So many great matches, and there are some from pool play I’d love to have access too. What could be nice is having both a digital and hardcopy available…
Perhaps, with the offer of purchase a DVD now, and get immediate download access, and later on after the print run on DVDs just offer digital only at a less expensive wait. Maybe madcatz can even throw in some keychains or something with each dvd preorder, or a SRK shirt.
Id be game; from the madness on saturday night, I know i want to see sabre’s cody again.
