Should there be an EVO2k10 DVD?

The absolute dream would be a Blu-Ray disc. However, I believe that production costs for making them are still rather high at the moment. So maybe in the future if we are lucky.

IMO I think two releases could work.

Standard DVD(s). Standard definition video but a physical hard copy for those that want it.

HD video downloads. Gives those who want the video in HD what they want. Preferably not with IGN after last year.

what about blu ray?

Blu-ray + digital copy = win

I would buy an EVO just for collecting purposes but what I would really like is a documentary film on fighting game culture in general, something like “Chasing Ghosts” or “The King of Kong”.

DVD’s as long as it’s not a basic, naked disc that would cost $28. Since most pool matches won’t be on a DVD anyway, it would be awesome to be able to upload those on Youtube. My old Youtube account got deleted last year for posting up videos of the effin drive to EVO, and random hotel shenanigans :bluu:

Absolutely. YouTube is great for research and wasting time at work, but it’s nice being able to watch the top eight on the big screen with a bunch of friends, remote in hand, without having to load another video every ten minutes. Also, I’m not a fan of how IGN handled the 2009 content.

Make that another vote for DVD.

Let’s see that DVD! I really want to watch those matches again, especially some that I missed.

If the DVD is going to be free, you can host it on some torrent site and it should be able to spread very very quickly to anybody that wants it. Just like torrenting Linux distros.

No Evo 2k9 DVD was the single biggest mistake of that decade.

I totally agree with Newtype…

I’d cop if they had one dedicated to SSFIV going from pools (for big names) all the way to the finals…and also showing the awards after the final match because it’s one thing a majority of folks missed out on.

The collection wouldn’t be complete without it!

A Blu-Ray disc would be sweet providing all the content that was streamed was HD.

DVD is fine too but I know it’ll likely be on multiple discs. This EVO was very special considering the international presence that was there for AE and all the hype moments that happened in other games like MvC3.

I wouldn’t even mind if the entire event was put up in multiple parts on iTunes.

Voted!

Would LOVE to see a DVD. There are so many extras you could add: the hype trailers, intros, special features, interviews, panels etc. There were SO many hype moments, that you really shouldn’t pass this opportunity up. In crispy HD.

The possibilities are endless! :woot:

Wiz has said many a times that they are done with physical distribution.

I’m wondering whats going on with this year’s footage. Last year, they tried to put vids on youtube but never really kept on (no TvC finals made me :(). This year it seems that at least the blazblue footage is being posted on the bbvlog on youtube. I saw some mvc, mk, and sf on the gamespot channel. Redemption suite is going on offcast’s channel as far as I know. Don’t know about tekken. Iplaywinner will probably put their after-hour stuff on their channel.

I want at least playlists for every game on the evo channel. That would be pretty convenient.

BTW, what ARE the plans with the EVO footage? I really like to know.

True, but as the gentleman above me noted, the YouTube channel kinda petered out, leaving those of us who were interested in the HDR and TvC top eight in the cold. I understand that putting the footage up on YouTube is a hassle, especially considering its a pro-bono operation, but its still a bummer.

I would happily buy another DVD, or more likely and even better, digital copies of all the top eight stuff.

Wiz, I’m trying to give you and the rest of the Evo staff my money. HELP ME HELP YOU.

I too would buy DVDs just to have better quality + ability to watch offline.

cough If it was released on DVD … premium membership has its advantages.

i want a 09,10 and 11 dvd to add to my collection
