I wouldn’t mind if you just provided the videos in encoded data (720p mkv?) format on the DVDs. That way we could get HD stuff as well. I don’t know how feasible it is, though. Would purchase DVD’s regardless, but would love to get it in HD.

This will be my first EVO, and a DVD as a souvenir would be wonderful, my vote goes for the DVD for sure.

DVD for sure. If it’s in ISO form that would be great, but then it would get pirated too quickly. It’s definitely easier for everyone on the staff to just record the match and upload it, though. I’d definitely buy a DVD.

At least we have HD videos, instead of SD ones (dvd).

I feel like the “youtube” option shouldn’t even be in the poll since MrWiz doesn’t allow evo videos to be on youtube until like a year after.

DVd. leaps and bounds. I know it’s extra hard work, but it’s the Evo DVDs that I look forward to recieving and watching again and again. Sentimental value, well presented and organized, and just special, this handcrafted account of what goes down at Evo is just more engaging and appreciated than stream footage.

I understand that this year may be the largest turn out yet- and surely that can mean for more interest in the DVDs if minimum orders are the issue.

lol, 56 to 5. Yeah, I want to see DVDs back. I don’t need HD to see what the players are doing, and if I just want to admire the graphics of the games I can do that anywhere else, or pop the game in myself. In 2017 we could have blu-rays, lol.

As much as I liked getting them in HD, the IGN presentation was just shit. I had such a hard time finding the footage, and the delay in having it up there made it seem not worthwhile.

I’ll be honest, if they decide to release an 09 dvd for last year, I would still buy it.

One of the reasons I want a DVD is keeping probably the last MVC2 matches that Evo will ever have.

From my point of view the best thing would be:

  • 720p@30hz videos on youtube 10 minutes after the match.
  • (1080p/720p)@60hz videos on IGN 4-5 hours after the match.
  • 1080p@60hz+DTS HD audio Blu Rays 2 weeks after the matches, for collecting purposes.
