I say yes to guard bar. Looks like it’s the only way to deal with turtles as characters that lack an overhead attack (Cammy). I don’t think they will add it though.
stun bar no
guard bar yes
Nah, no stun bars.
I’d rather have the blocking gauge from snk vs capccom 2 (or any other fightings games that had it) where if u block too much, it’ll destroy their guard for a few sec, leaving them wide open for a can of whoop ass.
Really wished they added that.
Yes.
It would actually make it easier to push forward, cause you actually know when your opp is going to get stunned.
Seeing how defense-friendly this game is, stun bars would help the offense out A LOT.
P.S- Also, include a guard bar like the CVS2 one as well.
EDIT: I find it odd that people are bringing up the whole “a true player should know everything”.
Come on, SF4 is about people taking the game out of the box and jumping in immediately, they shouldn’t be FORCED to memorize which moves do how much stun.
Don’t really want one.
…Yeah. I think it should.
stun bar isnt needed… also the way stun dissipates would need to be changed because the way it goes away in sf4 is like a sudden drop and would visually look weird on a bar. in 3s it slowly goes away in a consistent trickle.
and guard bar wouldnt fit in the game too… sf4 with a guard break would be gay as fuck. imagine el fuerte doing RSF on block. thats fucking instant breakage.
NINJA EDIT: ugh… i thought this was for the next sf4… w/e im going to leave this post.
No stun bar is pointless.
**Agreed.
Custom combo meter FTW…**
For el fuerte, couldn’t just counter if u blocked the first attempt? Or is it the whole thing continuous even if u block?
Stun bar not needed.
Guard break bar, yes please.
if you’ve played your character long enough you should already know when you or your opponent is going to get stunned.
that’s what training mode is for!
Make a separate thread for something that doesn’t exist in the good sf series.
No. Stun bar is a weak, cheap, artificial attempt at forcing players into offense. It’s a sign of a lack of confidence by the designer that he/she couldn’t trust the players and the design to evolve naturally and tried to force things in a sloppy way that punishes defense.
Edit: WHOOPS! Stun bar…not guard bar…I thought we were talking about guard breaks and shit…hah
waste of space. the less stuff on screen the better. just another meter to watch instead of playing.
i already spend enough time giving the meter respect as it is.
If you are incapable of viewing a small bar that fills up as you receive stun while knowing how much life you have and how much meter you have you probably can’t chew gum and walk or breath and drive at the same time.
Your game is obviously loose if you need that extra help from seeing the stun.
Don’t you know your characters combos damage/stun output?
You’re pretty lame man. To think you need a crutch like that filling up the screen.
It would be cool if there was a stun gauge, but I could live without it. I’m fine either way.
They probably want to keep the gauges to a minimum so new players don’t find things confusing.
it has a really tight window for reversal. and u can just keep preforming it on them if they are blocking.
