A bar would be nice, but any sort of indicator would be good. Something subtle, like the boarders of your health bar turning black… or something.
There is a surprise element to the stun feature. I feel if there were a stun bar, we wouldn’t see some of the spectacular risky play we see that makes some matches so great.
I just don’t want a turtle bar is all i’m saying.
well, personally i find pretty annoying being stunned with a jab that comes way after a combo.
of course, this is because stun doesnt reset when blocking…
but i also think it opens more possibilities because in fact people could develope tactics to get the stun, instead just damage.
somebody said if you know your main stun properties, is redundant. but, how much people really know this??
i agree that too much displays is not noob friendly though. in a utopical world, it would be optional .
While I can understand why some people would like it, I could do without it.
Reason being: when I see my opponent’s guage filling up in 3S I go out of my way to be overly offensive just to get the dizzy. It puts me off my game. It’s just a personal failing of mine :razzy:
I think it would help new players and not hurt experienced players. So it should be added.
Ya, I honestly think that after playing my character enough, I can guess when Im going to get dizzied within like 2 hits.
Might help with dizzying your opponent, but I could really go either way for a meter.
I’d rather have that function where if you block too much, you get put into a stun state. What was that called? Guard Break?
I am sure you do. lol especially since stun goes down after a bit, do you some how magically calculate this all in your head.
I never liked them, sometimes people would purposely chip away on purpose to defensive players.
If you got a good defense, good for you, you shouldn’t be punished for it.
I say no to Stun bars.
I actually wish they got rid of Ultras and just kept multiple leveled and multiple attack supers.
Ultras are what win most matches, and you get rewarded for getting beaten up, kind of sucks.
Actually, after playing for so long, it becomes easy to tell when a character will be stunned or not. It’s like knowing if an Ultra will connect or not, just because you’re so use to it.
That’s like a guard meter thing, though, isn’t it? As far as I knew, you could block forever without consequence in SFIV.
I agree. I wrote out a couple paragraphs on this just now, but that’s completely off topic. Ultra Combos should only be given to players who are trying to make a comeback, though, and not be guaranteed.
There should be a stun bar like in 3s. Plus stun damage is calculatable, so why not.
No, I didn’t like stun bars in 3S mainly because it caused people to suddenly play differently, either the attacker would be more aggressive and go for the stun which would be good or bad for him or the other player would just turtle it up…I think dizzies work best when they are sudden, with them being sudden, it is a more crushing defeat.
makes the game more confusing for newcomers
Cause a bar that says “Stun:[ ]” sure is confusing.
Those that say no should play more 3rd strike and get experience with it. All the reasons I see for nay, could apply to any bar. A stun bar adds the tension of the battle. Knowing you are about to get stunned and the attacking gaining on that bar affects both players play style and way of thinking. Im surprised SF4 didnt have this feature but I guess Ono didnt want to scare the scrubs away with too many features. SF4 feels barebones are times.
exactly, well said.
if your opponent’s stun starts wearing down it means you aren’t hitting him for like 3 or 4 seconds so you probably wouldn’t stun him anyways and the bar wouldn’t tell you shit. If i drop 2 combos in a row on my opponent i know i’m about to stun him, i don’t need no fuckin bar for that
Instead of a meter, there should be a warning like"
“Stun Imminent!” with an Icon on what kind of stun is coming. Just like combos.
^^x3
What about if the person on offense is undecided between being extra risky to acheive the stun the they almost have or backing off to play mind games?
^^
Yes
^^
nice
Knowing is better than guessing.
