SHould I ask stan to subcontract others?

Whny we need extra help

Currently, Stan is a joystick maker i hired for the wiring and other “physical” work, and a decent enough friend. (but recent misunderstanding between me and Paradise is causing a rift wiih him, MAYBE i haven’t taled to him recently> If I reaqd him right, hee eihter wantswokr now or lt him go) as I pay $50 a month for him to labor on my Joystick. The good things about him are, he’s loyal, he does way better wiring than the first joystick, which was my KY Enterprises stick during the Genesis era where wires had to be soldered every couple of weeks, and I thank for being willing to extend paymernts out out over months and is willing to work wiht my time frame. Stan’s wortk lasts for a real long time. (it got neatluy torn upon trying to improve it from someone else, and he fixed to working for certain systems. i think he does what he does well at a price that competitive. I always trust adf pay in advancve of his work to I’m not asking him to work unpoaid.

The bad thing is he’s mainly the hired had for assembling my joystick, way beter than my experience of my 1993 joystick, He doesn’t understand the Cthulhu well enough where ha can diagnose and fix it right, and we might need to ship it out.

Now we’re stuck. The ones that work are he PS3 (if don’t know whether it’s through the main USB port or the Ethernet USB port) and the Dreamcast.

He’s been at a pause. The man reason why he couldn’t do it is because he knows his limits. I guess my design works in every aspect well enough, where the PS3 and Dreamcast has all joystick and buttons working, and the flippable design works according to my plan, an index-to-index-mapping. But this part I can’t help him with.

But I need some help with the Cthulhu. You can go one of two ways. You can either diagram it out for him and teach him techniques. He says he’s really good at learning and following directions. saves on shipping. If it’s simpler for you, you’ll get half the shipping cost in addition to what I’m wiling to pay.

If one of you chooses chooses to send instead of teach/learn, based on the diagnose problem, the PS3 and Dreamcast working and all others we have, (no 3DO, I left the TG-16 adapter at my home, because hStanhas none there,) do you think you can fix it?
If it’s absolutely a case of non-woking adapters, if you can fix them, I’ll send just the adapters and you can send them back to Stan for him to test. If you think there’s something wrong with the Cthulhu, let me know and I’ll pay for Stan to ship it out to you for fixing, along with all the adapters, and pay you something to fix it…

…After one final step we neeed…

The one job we need he Cthulhu at Stan’s for is the 3.5 mm button arranger tp be built and tested. And I also got to check on the joysticks Y-ing theory of some of the other systems with the Assist Age and this site, since very few people on SRK touch pre-Genisis with their fight sticks. (but i know there’s enough)

And the weird thing is, this is is a DB37 plug standard, and for testing on your physicla joystick, I’llm pay for and keeep thew adapter for it to work with your joysitck. DB15, or DB25 or Quick connects. You can make it and I’l tell you my pin maps. or have Stan make and you tewll me yours.

Finally, a little quirk that might throw a curveball. My control has 18 switches, 18 grounds, one for each switch, and a voltage. This is to accommodate both a Colecvision and a button swapper. If you think it’s safe to separate your ground from the joystick into 18 of the CV-compatible PCB, say yes. Otherwisae, I need a diffrent way to do this if you want this job.

Again, way too long of a post, but your point was decently obvious after the first 2-3 paragraphs (you could’ve stopped there).

Out of curiosity, why are YOU asking if Stan should subcontract? You hired HIM for a job. If he can’t do it, either:
a) he tells you so, and you look to hire someone else for the job entirely, or
b) he tells you so, and HE looks to subcontract the work to someone else (either at your cost or his; I don’t know what the payment agreement between you two were initially).

Look at it this way: if I hired a building company to build a house for me that I designed, and their plumber can’t do the job based on the design, the building company doesn’t come tell me to go look for another plumber. They find and hire another plumber to get the job done, because it’s THEIR job to deliver, not mine.

At this point, if everything other than what you’re describing is working, sounds like your agreement with Stan is done, and you find someone else to tweak whatever you need to have done.

I was trying to shorten it, but there was a lot to explain. Even that was too long.

If you know how to fix a Cthulhu that works well in PS3 and Dreamcast, but not any other system we have for the RJ-45, I’;d like to hire someone to help.

There is one important design caveat at the end tat might stump some people. It has to do with desgining it so a stick can be Coleco compatible. They have 2 grounds and to be button swappable and versatile, it’s one pin per input switch.

Some more details on first post.

Let me start over with a new short post and link to the other post.

now going back and hiding the less revevant points in post 1

Dear SRK, you still ain’t called or wrote, I hope you have the chance
I ain’t mad, I just think it’s fucked up you don’t answer fans

At this point find someone else.

I shortened it about a few minutes after you complained.

FreedomGundam's post here

I went back and shortened it.

This is probably the way I shoould do it, type long and hide everythig except the main sentence in the paragraph and too tangenital information.

Thinking about method for turning non 3D TVs. into 3D TVs made me tangentially think of a possible solution to my Cthulhu problem.

There’s only one solution here; Stop posting, period.

You’re not a pioneer of any kind, you have shown to be stubborn, close minded, mentally challenged and on a fixed income sourcing from government help. You explained this in one of your rants and I’ll be honest; I stopped posting here for a while in hopes you’d leave, all for naught I’m afraid.

It’s been a while, you have done nothing but annoy veterans and newcomers alike, solutions have been given to you and you’re still at square 1. Whatever happened to the Telecom stick source I sent you? You did absolutely nothing with it I’m sure. How do I know this? Because you’re a time waster.

Lol.

Damn, can we not go in on people for having mental health issues or low incomes? None of thiese factors are of anyone’s choosing and the FGC started in low income areas, ffs. We’re all here to read about brands of microswitches, that’s hardly normal lol.

Mods should have stepped in on this a long time ago though since it’s throwing an extra spade of dirt on top of the forums
