You make a good point.
I can’t get timing for the link down though.

I consider foot sweep a good normal. And stand roundhouse is good for a long range, high damage move if you get an open shot on someone.
As for Chun, what kicks are you having trouble with? Is it a special move or all normals?
Can someone please explain the applications for each of the different crazy kicks and some combos they can be used in?
Here are a couple of combos. I’m not sure if they are worth anything, but thought I’d put them up anyways. I haven’t tested them against everyone, so I will post up the only people that I KNOW they work on.
Vs. Gief:
Cross-up j.forward, cr.strong xx cr.forward, qcf+roundhouse.
Vs. Ryu, Ken, Akuma
Deep cr.strong xx close fierce, qcb+roundhouse.
Obviously they are both situational (the shoto one is more so), but it is always good to have more options.
after AA super juggle with hp srk
i love the jab SRK so much
dude i SO love doing this against characters i can get away with it on
builds up meter so fast too :lovin:
its like throwing up a fuckin shield
I can do shortx2 super np but shortx2 into a normal jab dp seems really hard to do consistently. Seems like the dp only connects when it feels like it. Does this only work good on wide characters? or is it a really hard link?
Just like the super, chaining cr.lk x2 into special requires a kara cancel of some sort. Using standing lk for the kara with the super is easier because the super motion ends in the standing position.
Jab Shoryuken = Ken’s best weapon.
His hurricane kicks are pretty damn good too.
Has anyone tried his MK throw -> ground crossup into fierce shoryuken?
i have trouble with her special kicks. i try to hit her and get hit by them. I usually refrain from using c rh since i always thought it was bad, but i been getting into it lately. not as good as c mk i don’t think.
Edit: Nevermind. Misread something about kara and renda canceling and it led to a question that didn’t make sense. Got it figured out now.
do you guys use his hurricane kicks? i only use them in the air are they useful on the ground?
Yes from cross up, to hit or throw. Al so to get you in to range for dp’s
I not 100% it?s feels a solid as ST at all. Ken vs. ken just shows this to me. All the matches feel just light weight to what I used to.
Yep, but you gotta be hyper-fast with the Shoryuken, because when Ken crosses up, the time between when he turns around to face the opponent, and when the opponent lands on the ground, is like a billionth of a second. So you gotta be fast if you wanna meaty the Shoryuken, or you’ll get reversed.
If you’re talking about Chun’s Lightning kicks, and you’re far away, just use Hadoken or jump attack or even Hurricane. If Chun does them meaty though, the only thing I use is Strong Shoryuken reversal. Everything else gets stuffed. Haven’t tried Hurricane reversal tho, that might work.
If you’re saying that ST Ken is better than Remix Ken, you couldn’t be more wrong. Just the fact that his Crazy kick commands are easier alone, makes him tons better than ST Ken. Not to mention his invincible st.Shoryuken, reversal super and faster Hurricane. I’ll take Remix Ken over ST Ken any day.
Are you saying you mainly use the ground hurricane kick to move into position to attack? How often do you actually use the hurricane kick with the intent to hit your opponent (either blocked or not)?
EDIT: hello, I’m a Street Fighter n00b. Okay not completely (I can do basic combos on command), but I hadn’t played SF2 with this much access to information and strategy, so I’m still trying to make good habits and get rid of bad ones.
Also, how should his crazy kicks be used?
With Ken’s Hurricane being so fast now, it’s great for moving in on turtlers like Honda, Guile and Dictator. It’s especially good against Guile for going through his Booms. Forward Hurricane is a great starter against Guile players right at the beginning of the round. You get a guaranteed hit if they do Boom, that’s how fast it is, as well as you land faster than if you use Roundhouse Hurricane, plus Guile can’t react with cr.Strong or cr.Fierce as you’re already safe, in fact, you can Shoryuken as soon as you land.
It’s great against Dictator to pressure him when he’s trying to run away, or as a cross over to screw up his charge. Hurricane is also good as an alternative to spamming Hadoken against Honda.
I rarely, if ever, use the Hurricane to make them block.
A good combo with Ken’s Crazy Kicks is crossup Forward, cr.Strong, Forward or Short Crazy Kick into Overhead. Guaranteed 4 hit, good dizzy potential, and big damage, though not as big as Shoryuken combos, obviously.
Other than that, I mainly use his Overhead instead of the Crazy Kicks. I find the Forward Overhead comes out the fastest, rather than Roundhouse or Short Overhead.
