If 09ers were not allowed to vote, VDO would’ve surely won by a big margin IMO. But eh…Sf4…changing times D:
you ban the 09ers, it would been the same thing. mvc2 or 3s bias. cuz prior to 09, most people either played mvc2 or 3s(they made up a big chunk of the scene before sf4 did). you could do this thing all day. you got a lot of people that will only vote for a specific match just cuz the game that was played. its no different if you eliminate 09. a lot of the votes are just bias towards a certain game. thats just how it is.
This site has gotten incredibly bitter over the last year. Things will be changing in 2010. If you can’t even handle a completely-for-fun poll without spewing trash talk then this may not be the site for you.

I disagree…because plenty of non-09ers who clearly play SF4 (and probably ONLY sf4) and don’t play mvc2 still felt VDO’s match should’ve won. You could clearly see non-bias from some posters expressing their thoughts about why they voted for VDO. Most of the bias (or ignorance) seen was for Valle/Sabre votes.
It would’ve been FAR from the same thing. More people play SF4 over the others, 09ers or not. It’s just non09ers weren’t really as ignorant (as you could see in their posts)
just look at some of their posts on it. “what’s a marvel?” lol
but yeah, that’s all I’ll further say on this. as inkblot has mentioned, my general 09er/sf4nub distaste if overflowing into this thread. 
and yeah, it’s a competition about competitive games. lol. I wouldn’t have been as haterade filled if it wasn’t for the obvious ignorance in 09ers posts. I don’t feel I was offending anyone though (except 09ers maybe). But it’s good I guess overall for dates to be removed. to protect SRK’s best interests of getting dem users onboard.
Plus, somebody wins a match like that it’s hard not to go berserk. I probably would have started scaling walls and flipping tables. Oh wait a minute I’m supposed to shake his hand looks down from crevice in ceiling.

How about this one… If you didn’t take part in the alt. newsgroups discussion boards back in the 90’s like I did, your opinion shouldn’t count. Sorry Marvel didn’t win over SFIV. I didn’t even realize this was a SFIV vs Marvel competition…

Remind me that you’re so upset that people aren’t going to play marvel for another 50 years, and new games will be released that might generate hype that could possibly surpass your precious game, that you feel the need to bash those who have moved on.
Marvel was an awesome game. It may remain a fun, even awesome game. But get over it. There are other games that people may enjoy. Maybe even more than Marvel.
This whole thing was for fun, and you tried very desperately to strip this of fun. I hope inkblot is right. I hope that 2010 brings something new to fix how bitter people have become over the success of SFIV. And the death, or impending death of the games they want to hold onto.

Each of the games/matches have their own reason for being here and it is certainly difficult to reach an accord about how exactly to rate one over the other… It would be one thing if we had a SFIV Match of the Year and a MvC2 Match of the Year… clearly, with the differences in each of the games, it is hard to fairly rate one against the other.
Everyone has their own parameters about what makes “Match of the Year” and there is no real right or wrong answer in this case… You ever watch the Academy Awards? You ever disagree with the nominees or winners? Same stuff folks… at least in this case everyone had a chance to place their vote and it was not decided by some faceless, out-of-touch committee.
I look forward to see what 2010 videos get nominated.

Valle spent all of pre evo hyping himself up for being in the basement and talking shit about Justin only to get embarrassed on the big screen by a character that most people considered an afterthought. VDO did what he’s been doing for years. A lot of people watching the Sabre match saw Sakura shit that they had never seen before. This “you must not understand marvel” bullshit is weak.

Awesome! Close race, but Sabre and Valle won out in the end. VDO is my MvC2 hero, but I’ve seen his Rouge/Ken/Colossus stuff before. The Sabre match was a lot more interesting to me, because high level SFIV Sakura is near unheard of.
Besides, no disrespect to Potter, but the way Storm lamed out half the match playing keepaway vividly reminded me why I don’t like MvC2. Plus, it’s hard for me to get hype over a time over match.
