There was a very nice finish but at the end of the day it’s Guile and Honda, one of the more boring matchups in the game.No vote for me.
MvC2: VDO (Rogue/Ken/Colossus) vs Potter (Storm/Sentinel/Cable) [at Evo2k9 7-18-09]
Pretty damn good.Low tier vs broken tier and the low tier comes out on top with a clutch finish. This is what makes a great match. I don’t really play Marvel though so I probably won’t vote for this.
SF4: Alex Valle (Ryu) vs SabrE (Sakura) [at Evo2k9 7-17-09]
Fucking epic match. Sabre busts out Sakura and goes to town on Alex Valle with air resets and and Tatsu mixups. My favourite point of the match is when Alex just mashes out that Super at the end, at this point you can tell Sabre has crushed any hope Alex had against him, after two rounds of complete domination.I would vote for this.
TVC: Kubo (Karas/Ryu) vs GIAN (Chun-li/Ryu) [01-29-09]
Never played TVC but this was a nice match.I can’t say I’m a fan of this one combo ends the game thing it has going on, but it was fun. After watching this and vids like this I will definately be purchasing TVC on day one.
SF4: Dashio (Viper) vs Shiro (Abel) [at SBO 2009]
This is another contender for my vote. It has everything;Amazing comeback,relentless rushdown,great combos and execution,mixups. I can safely say that Abel is the most interesting character in the game and this match is the epitome of his character.
SF3 3s: Momochi (Makoto) vs K.O (Yang) [at SBO 2009]
Ok I love 3s but I fucking hate Makoto.The way Momochi uses her is beastly but I think she is alongside with Chun-Li as one of those characters that makes the game less fun to watch. Basically you have two 50/50 guesses to make against Makoto and if you guess wrong both times you are getting stunned and killed, especially when Momochi is so spot on with the Seichusen-Godanzuki.KO put up a good fight and it would be easier to vote for it if he had won.
I lost my voice during the Sabre/Valle match at Evo. I watched the rest, and while all are very good choices, I’ll never forget the looks on the faces of Gootecks and Valles faces.
That was one HELL of a mix-up game.

I voted for the Fujisawa V Akimo match. I may be a little biased because I main Honda but it was a great match and the draw made it an even better match. Both of them put up a great fight.
My second vote, if I had one, would definitely go to the Sabre V Valle match. Holy shit that was an ass whooping! If I were to see that live I think I would have shit myself.
I went VDO vs. Potter, nice seeing a low tier team take it to one of the best teams in the game and watching Ken break out that “infinite” on Cable was great.
My vote: Dashio vs. Shiro
Viper: Guess right eight or nine times and do 1090 damage.
Abel: Guess right twice and end the match.
Also the second part of the video has Iyo and his Dhalsim and he pretty much always delivers with his play.

my vote went to sabre vs valle. this match was epic. nobody really knew sakura was that good. it was basically a come out party for her. I played sabre at mwc when he started to use sakura. even then i thought his sakura was good. he didnt really throw those mixups at me but when u got great players playing each other and the better known player not knowing what to do is what made it match of the year. After this u started seeing people starting to do copy these mixups
Against Makoto you’re going up against WAY more than 50/50, especially post Hayate.
-Sit and block high or low = Command grab/cr.short Hayate/EX Orochi
-Dash back = Hayate
-Jump straight up = EX Fukiage
-Jump back = cr.roundhouse
only to name a few
I voted for VDO mvc2 comeback with low tier. I’m sorry, but winning with that team against storm, sent, cable is to good imo! That’s not even a real team to most mvc2 players. Not only did he win with that team, but it was against a great mvc2 player in potter. I wonder how many people have played that team seriously in a major tournament? Ken, Rouge, coll. VDO is the man and he gets my vote.
Also everyone needs to go back a look at the vid from the begining because the vdo vid starts on the final round. Pun intended. :lol: Goto the start because potter had storm, sent, commando in the 1st round and he killed that team 1st then potter ocv with storm, sent, cable on vdo in the 2nd round and then vdo pulled out the final round. Sorry but that match was epic and I don’t even like mvc2.

Decent match all around, but nothing really spectacular. The Double KO at the end was a nice touch though.

I was very impressed by VDO. Not just because he was facing a top-tier team, but the fact that he never gave up even when Potter was trying to burn out the clock. Great comeback.
SF4: Alex Valle (Ryu) vs SabrE (Sakura) [at Evo2k9 7-17-09]
I’ve always known that SabrE is one of the best Sakura players in the US, but I never dreamed that he could beat hands down one of the greatest players of all time in Alex Valle.

A pretty good match. Slow except for the ending. Funny that he gets full ultra and super and he still barely makes it even. The draw is a funny ending, but I wish there was more than just both players lose.

This is an epic match. The whole match has insane shit going on throughout it and the ending is just icing on the cake. This was my personal vote.

The mixups were fun, but other than that it wasn’t a spectacular match. I was there though and it was one of the greater moments of evo, but not the best.

Good comeback, but I barely know what’s going on. Karas seems broken, then all of a sudden Ryu does mega dmg.
