armchair sf4 - more popular than actually going out and playing sf4
if we chose “flawless” chars, all of us would just pick Ryu and nothing else. I like fast and agile chars like Cammy and Rose (probably Juri also). So, should i be doomed to pick flawed chars then because CAPCOM didnt balance the game properly?

Yes, that is Rose in the lower right corner. It kind of looks like a new costume. If the other pictures around it are of other characters in new costumes, then we can assume that she is in a new costume, too.
I was looking over that pic of rose, possible it looks like some kind of dress she has on. Maybe a cocktail or china dress which would rock!

But i was thinking that maybe they could make some frame adjustments to rose’s
far.mk,hk,hp. i know its sounds like alot but hear me out. For Far.mk i thought they could
just add 1 more plus frame to it so that way it makes setting up frame traps easier for cr.mp
and cr.mk.The Far.Hk and Far.HP should go to +3 on hit that way they make follow up options a bit
safer the current +1 doesnt really do that.
Cr.mk also could go to +4 that way it could 1 frame link into cr.mp. cr.lp and cr.lk could go up by 1 frame and th i think that would just polish off rose’s game.
I was hoping for the dress she wears in her perfect win pose in the Alpha series. Doesn’t look like it though. Or maybe it is.
Sorry I missed responding to this. Not gonna say anything major. Just that there’s a balance to all the characters. Rose is flawed in certain ways because she has certain exceptional things. That’s my whole point - that no character is flawless.
If c.MK could always combo into c.MP, nobody would ever use c.LK. And c.MK combos into c.mp on CH, so shouldn’t that be good enough?
Also I don’t agree that Rose should have any frame advantage on hit after s.HP/HK. They’re moves that shouldn’t have safe follow-ups. When you’re at the s.HK range, you can’t really expect to be able to just throw out anything during or after s.HK without there being some risk; since on both block and hit, you’ve reset the playing field. After s.HK just expect a reaction from the player unless they focused your hit, or otherwise hit you out of s.HK. Otherwise you’ve just been playing against dead fish.
Edit, and Capcom is certainly gonna have something better in mind for her 3rd costume than that shabby skin mod.
One thing make ex spark ex focus level 2 hit mid screen or make her new ultra comboable, I doubt this as it will porbably be a soul throw. I like this idea but her current ultra is such a good anti air it seems pointless.
Why would you(anyone else) completely stop using c.lk. Just because cr.mk would be able to link into cr.mp?
Its another option as a combo not the only option. And How often do us see CH Cr.mk link into cr.mp? I personal hit that link like once every 10 matches if that.
Now about the plus frames on hit for fr.Mk,HK,HP. Making them +3 on hit wont garuntee anything just give rose a better opportunity to punish silly mistakes or bad choices. An example rose does Far.Hk and it hits now she’s at +3
so if she deciedes to countinue her offense she has a better chance of land something or at least keeping the upper hand in pressuring the opponet. Slide for example would only be beat/trade with 3 frame moves or they can block/backdash/focus attack or use a attack with invinc frames to counter. They have options to esacpe and reset the adavatage to neutral and some have options that can put them back at advantage. Rose would just have better chance of maintaing her adavantage if the player makes smart desicions.
you lost me. How would more + frames on hit give her any better opportunities to punish “silly mistakes”? What opportunities are you talking about? I know you weren’t thinking to guarantee a follow up, but there wouldn’t be much of a difference between 1 or 3 frames on hit. Trying to follow up a s.HK is just as risky as sliding in, as it should be. If you hit, then that’s what you wanted. if they block, then at least you didn’t get hit. If you get uppercutted, you realize you have a fight. I just don’t see a difference.
And Rose won’t have any upper hand in pressuring outside of combos due to her pokes essentially resetting the field every time on hit. Unless it’s a counter hit, and you know the string, any non-comboing follow up you can get hit out of by something as simple as a jab.
Anyway, I don’t think I’d completely stop using c.lk, I’d just be fishing for hits with c.mk a lot more instead.
Personally, if Rose was my child and she brought home her report card of her current state, I would make sure that she studies next semester! Soul Illusion Cram School or something.
FYI I havent seen it, but I have confirmation from a reliable source that Roses new Ultra is similar to Oros Tengu Stone using the orbs from her intro. Couple details:
- timed
- orbs go away on block stopping the ultra. does block damage
- can combo while they hit
- not sure if they juggle

Timed ultra are always either overpowered, or useless.
Soul Illusion in Street Fighter Alpha 3 wasn’t useless or overpowered, for the most part.
Rose’s second Ultra Combo is called Soul Satellite according to one of the people at the demonstration event.
Saintconner posted her second ultra, and also shows Hp reflect, cancel into soul throw etc… Nice so far.
