I was thinking if they do add the push back mechanic on to her SSparksthey should only push 1 1/2 ~2 squares away from rose if they make them all push back the same amount.
If they decide to do it but by different ranges for different SSparks the Lp. should be 1square(or it could stay as is so long as the Frame data changes on hit/block), Mp.1 1/2 sqaures and Hp.2 squares and Ex. could be 1 1/2 or 2 this should only happen on block so that way our combos can still work when we actually hit with SSparks.
I want her FA to come out faster. I hit the FA, and im always like “is that shit coming out?”, because it starts so slow.
Kaz you cant have it both ways…either it pushes back always or it pushes back never. I would hate to have the push back on block actually…the more i think about it, I dont mind it. I’d rather have more push back on my reflect.
I thought that how it was since alpha. Even so I think Roogle said that it was only on mp/Hp so thats fine with me if its always push back, but if they can sperate it I would like it that way. Why on reflect the hitboxes are to small to combo into without risking a wiff.
I dont have a problem with a speed now that i figure out how to read the data for FA. Roses FA is about average speed its the range that bothers me.
The pushback effect either wasn’t there or was very negligible for LP Soul Spark. MP Soul Spark pushed them out of jab range and HP Soul Spark pushed them to the end of her scarf which is possibly halfway across the screen. The effect was unblockable, but they could easily jump out of it or interrupt you before as MP Soul Spark and HP Soul Spark had horrible start up times. (Sound familiar? She actually hasn’t changed that much.)
hey y’all was just thinking about Rose’s soul throw … after she throws the opponent when she is falling she kind of twists but doesn’t do a full turn, when she lands she corrects her stance
I was kind of thinking it would be interesting if she did a full turn while falling with her scarf out as a small landing attack - kind of how in brawl zelda’s teleport gained a small explosion on reappearance
Sometimes i accidentally “crossup” with soul throw and it confuses the opponent, it might be an interesting modification, maybe lol
I get your idea but it might make rose ST to safe becuase people wouldnt be able to punish it without risking a hit making it a little to good plus it recover decently idk maybe it could work but if ST did a better job as a AA i would be happy.

Ultra: fine like that, no change
soul throw: can catch people in juggle state. I find nothing more stupid than wining an air-air duel, then soul throw. It will add a lot in possibility, and it’ coherent with the super in sfa3.
reflect: more juggle ability ( upper !). able to catch in juggle state too.
I want to see something like: cmp xx soul spiral SADC juggle into reflect juggle into soul throw.
That will create a great but hard to do combo for rose and some use for her sadc.
an overhead: anything, but soul piede could be great, I think the move already looks like an overhead.
slide: if the move suppose to slide through fireball, then make it easier. It really too hard right now. it should not be trivial to do, but it should be a real possibility.
a better while not perfect wake up: maybe few more invincibility frame for the ex spiral ( seriously, ONE frame ?), the 6 start up frame will be perfect, but 3-4 should be ok.
few recovery frame less for the fireball ? I think rose has to have a lot of recovery in her fireball but few more could be good( she win fireball war by reflect not by throwing good fireball)

Spiral would have to launch them higher for that to work. Which might mean…more time to confirm super, better/longer time to set up oki…hm. I do like the sound of that though. Everybody knows what I think about the overhead thing lol.
What you’re saying though is stuff > spiral > SADC > reflect > soul throw? Well…hm. That needs a lot of scaling lol.
I suggest EX spiral being 2 hits. First hit is her wind up which creates a little juggle. While the person is coming down, she hits the regular spiral animation. This would be great as the move would have better start up, and invincible while she’s winding up.

I prefer Spiral not being FADCable. Doesn’t make sense…its a knock down. I think your thinking more of
stuff > EX spark > FADC > reflect > Soul Throw.
I say if your gonna allow the reflect to juggle, dont scale it. Just make the combo impossible except when FADC’ed.
About ‘my combo’:
I don’t think that need that much scaling. it’s what ? 200 dmg (before scaling ) for two Ex bar ?
It’s not that much considering that rose doesn’t have combos.
It’s in the ‘scale’ of the combo from abel: change_of_direction SADC cfp, skyfall
One of the goal of this combo is to create something hard to do for the ‘pro’ player.
Right now with rose we can learn more mixup/bait ( like everyone else)
but after the ‘mp, cmp’ and ‘clk, cmp’, what’s to learn ?
light spark FADC ? it’s a hard combo, that cost of lot of bar for really small reward.
with spiral SADC reflect that will be a really hard combo to land ( 1 frame link?) that can do a good amount of damage without been too powerful ( I’m not speaking of a way to combo ultra)
And since reflect can hit fireballs, I don’t see why it can’t hit ‘blue flamed thing’ that still in the air.
Lol not a major overhaul more like a really good tune up. What she has now is a ok base but somethings just need to be fleshed out and work a bit/alot better.
As for opening up her combo game there’s a couple of things that could be done. one is taking her cr.mp down to 3 frames this would give rose alot of new combos but might make cr.mp broke due to the speed, range and recovery.
Another way would be to make adjustments to several moves by increasind and decreasing about 1-2 +frames. adding this to cr.lk,cr.mk. and standing cl.mp would make some combos easiser and also open up doors to brand new combos and taking start up away from far mk would also do the same(though its current state cannot cancle). The questions is do people want this to happen. I personally only want a coulpe of combos added/made a bit less difficult.
I’m worried. On eventhubs they’re saying they wanna address 2 things, throws and jumps. From my understanding they wanna lower jump start up and make throws harder to catch.
Is it just me or does this “fix” hurt rose? I rely on trapping people to trying to jump and getting a quick kd using their jump frames.
And about half my damage comes from my wake up game involving a bit of tick throws. Are they telling me I’m gonna have a harder time doing this?
I wouldn’t worry about things like this yet. The main reason we rely on the things you mentioned is because we don’t have much else to work with. The new game should give us something as solid or probably moreso to use.
I think they’re aware as much as we are about this stuff.
However I worry about ssf4. Rose needs a few tweaks. I want her good enough, but still with her flaws so she’s not used by every schmoe. Her playstyle is quite cool and quite exciting. It’s refreshing because the people who do play as rose are good…
I don’t want evry kid and their mothers playing rose and making us look bad. I might think the rose community can work to strengthen our skills more…bit were a small group…and I like It that way.
Yeah, chill out. She’ll be better, but she still won’t have a dragon punch, lariat or FADC half of movelist > ultra, so don’t worry about scrubs jumping on the character. More people in general playing the character would be a good thing overall though, which would eventually mean that everyone gets better, more things are ironed out, we have more info from good players to work with and more vids to watch. There’s a lot of casual vids floating around from online play or whatever, but seeing what players do in a tournament setting is so much more important. I could record 100 casual vids and upload just the 2 that make me look like Cyber Daigo.
