Nah the combat is that shitty seperate animation action game crappy thing, shenmue s combat actually had potential because it was an evolution of virtua fighters combat system with added realism, wake up

Yakuza world and characters are simple and the character designs are more immature, shenmue is for more intellectual minded people while yakuza is for the adult delinquent in us, you better sneeze out that cocain

Shenmue being yu’s baby means the combat system will be a new version of virtua fighter 5s combat system but more philosophical.

Ki Shima rocking that fanboism pretty damn hard. The fighting in Yakuza was miles better than Ryo pulling off a crappy Akira immitation, it had the benefit of advances in tech. Y4/5 brings in more PC with more martial arts. Shenmue being for intellectual people is just some dumb bullshit cause its a video game last time I checked, as with character designs being more simple meh also very subjective.

Your silly and clearly OP biased opinions aside am actually hype for Shenmue 3 myself, I just readily accepted Yakuza series for what it was (ie the spiritual successor to Shenmue) and enjoyed it as much. Its going to need to be on some new GTA levels of scale though, open world adventure games have came a huge way and for Shenmue to get back on top its gonna need to be beyond fucking spectacular.

shenmue was built with this in mind but with added flexibility and realism to the situations in fights. real fighting is messy but fluid

now whatever shenmue we get now will be built on what Virtua Fighter 5 Final Tuned had to offer but will be more dramatic.

please don’t compare Yakuza to Shenmue.

I’m sure you all know that Yakuza wouldn’t even exist without Shenmue , but that’s not the point i’m gonna attempt to make now.
Shenmue and Yakuza , altough being very similar , are two very different types of games. Ki shima pointed this out earlier and he is 100% correct.
So the X is better than X dosen’t make much sense to me. If you enjoy Yakuza , i say you have great taste in games. But when you are discrediting Shenmue , that makes me think
you don’t really know much videogames at all.

I’m kinda semi worried that because the game won’t have the budget to make it a full AAA game or $10mils for an open world game that it won’t be a complete or good game, but I think that a game doesn’t necessarily need to have all of those shiny things to be a good game. It’s all about the skill of the storyteller.

edit : to be honest with you guys… as much as i want Suzuki to get as much money as possible…
if he knew that he wouldn’t have been able to create a fully fledged Shenmue experience with 2 mil $ , he wouldn’t have done it.
my prediction is that it’s gonna be everything we know and love , but perhaps it’s not gonna be as detailed as the more crowded parts of Shenmue 2.

It doesn’t have to be open world, I mean, most open world games that I’ve played were really boring.

Best open world game that I’ve played is Zelda: Link to the Past.
