I’ve been itching to work spider-man into my main team which consisted of Shulk/Tron/Dorm. I like that team except I’m using tron for her assist and cannon fodder for x-factor dormammu. Spiderman seems to fill the reset role like spencer and I can use him as a mid point character to set up for dormammu.
My question to you though is how do you consistently time the spider-man’s assist after the torpedo? I put in a good two hour session earlier trying for the reset and I haven’t been able to time it correctly, what normally happens is the opponent will otg right over the web ball and whiff. I have been able to pull it off every once in a while (prolly 1-10ish times :(). I believe I’m mistiming the assist because I’m not landing soon enough, I’ve seen other she-hulks only use :h::s: to help time their otg slide/reset, is this the case?
Unfortunately I practiced using spencer so I can’t give you anything concrete plus Im at school now, but ill share with you what I can and hopefully that helps. Ok with spencer what I do is try to time it such that I call the assist while she-hulk is running, if you do it before she goes into the runners stance it will either whiff or just not connect correctly, so Im assuming something similar is happening with spiderman, so try that first off, runners stance, :f:, assist and then :l: if its still not connecting correctly, then maybe try :a1: then runners stance into torpedo. If that doesn’t work then try doing just :h: :s:, in fact, just for safety try doing just :H: :s: first before doing any of this other stuff I listed and work your way from there.
Well if your running shulk and skrull your gonna need a very good assist character, with that said except for doom and amateratsu every other top tier assist got hit with the nerf stick in ultimate. If I were you ill just build my vanilla team and worry about ultimate when it comes out, there is still a lot we don’t know yet and its still over a month away so thats enough time to get to grips with some aspects of the game.
My team is she-hulk/dante/spencer, I really like the spencer assist for she-hulk(and FYI I came up with that shulk reset before combofiend was blowing people up with it) but Im not particularly a fan of spencer so if capcom give us another assist that forces a standing state in ultimate ill probably switch to whoever that character is.
I’ve been wanting to build a new team with She-Hulk and have been trying to put some thought in this. She-Hulk (Torpedo)/Chris (Machine Gun)/Hsien Ko (Pendulum). The thought I was getting here is use Chris’s Machine gun to make for safe approach to either combo after the gun hits, or go for some fancy reset with dizzy. I was thinking of using Hsien Ko’s assist to extend a combo or use it as defensive measures with her super armor buff. And with She-Hulk’s Torpedo, it’s a good OTG where the other two lacks in the department, at least, any that is good. I’m still weeding it out until it can be clean, but I haven’t tried it yet, so this is all just on the drawing board. What do you all think about it if this has any potential at all?
Not really bro, your team gets counter picked mad easily and outside of she-hulk just doesn’t take advantage of x-factor. If I find myself playing against that team ill just x-factor and kill she-hulk and all of a sudden your stuck with chris with a mediocre assist and a terrible anchor. Plus trish probably counters your entire team btw since you have no aerial control at all.
Of course this is purely my opinion, plus Im just not a big fan of hsien-ko at all.
I usually use slide covered by drones to approach, if they block it and I don’t have drones out, I call Tron and cancel into command grab. After an OTG, I look at how they tech and use Tron and M grab to try to catch them.
With Tron out, I am just reduced to jump H, fishing for hard-to-blockables with Torpedo assist.
Then I have Sentinel, who is my favorite character in the game.
Well I quit the game out of frustration for awhile since I couldn’t find a good team I liked. Then I saw a VOD of J Wong using SheHulk, Ammy, Tron at Winter Beating or whatever it was called and it inspired me to use her. And I’ve been rockin with them ever since. With ammys cold star and trons fire assist there is like nothing you can do far or even really mid screen unless you like eating projectile hypers. But a simple relaunch combo with SH puts the, in the corner most of the time and then you can go in. Cold Star and Fire locks people down and you can do mixups, and with fire the block stun is so short you can start to grab some one before the animation is over. Plus if you do SH bnb when you start to do her OTG call out ammy during the Run. Then you can cancel into her Running Stance into a Clothesline for a reset, somersault kick then SJ into a reset, a delayed Emerald Cannon, or jumping M M H S to kill that magic pixel.
I just picked this game up in prep. for UMvC3, and I love the Emerald lawyer.
I just have a question about team synergy. I have two teams in the works right now, and I dunno about either of them: Shulk-alpha/Storm-alpha/Spencer-beta or the same team with Dante on alpha for Storm. I feel like I have better options with Storm in - namely better mixups with the torpedo assist combined with flight cancel, easier way to get in with space control from Storm’s assist for She Hulk, and Spencer gels with Storm as well because of slant wire resets into flight and air-dash mixups.
But with Dante I’ve got some more issues getting in on people at the cost of a metric fuckton of damage from the chariot loop with Spencer’s slant wire leading into Dante being out from the qcf super, and mixups with the torpedo and air dash setups (possibly unblockables?). I just dunno, should I set myself up to be ready for runaway with Storm, or am I just too new to get how to evade keepaway with Shulk?
how about things like dante’s homie missles? and other bs like that? it keeps messing me up, and when i cancel it, I can’t seem to block fast enough in the air for some reason idk what’s happening
I need so much help that it’s made me depressed. I’ve been trying to find a team that works around She-Hulk (a) and Jill (b). Jill because she’s really fun and makes me seem like an underdog, and her assist is ok for creating resets. But I want a 3rd that has a great projectile type assist, does good damage and makes her torpedo relaunch easy mid screen and after air throw. I was trying Chris but I noticed his assist starts slow and it’s quite difficult to do the relaunch with. Any help? )=
Not sure if this has been posted yet but I have a pretty simple UB with nova’s centurion rush assist and her c.H. I haven’t used this outside of a reset after a combo followed by her otg. After the otg i runner cancel press back and H while calling nova. Also you can combo/cross-up pretty well off of dorms dark hole.
I ran Shulkie in Vanilla and then dropped her once I lost all sense of how to combo with her. Now that the TAC and booty bump is back (props to both vid makers), I’m trying to piece together a team.
I like Skrull in Ultimate, so I am thinking Shulk/Skrull/??? and I’m not sure who to use for anchor/assist support. Was pondering Dorm for Blackhole or maybe Hawkeye, but I’m not too sure. Maybe even Shulk/Hawkeye/Dorm now that I think about it.
you cant block until you hit the ground sadly. Anyway I play she Hulk / Hulk / Doom. i find this team to be quite god like. I hope to have videos of my tournament wins soon.
I’m loving this Shulkie/Sent/Dormammu team I have going on. Drones keep them locked down so I can grab them, hole assist lets me extend combos (I think?). Once I figure out the intricacies of this team I’m going to have a jolly old time.
Hey, I’m new too the UMVC3 scene, and wanted an opinion on a team. I like playing rush down characters, and odd ball and Shehulk right up my alley not seeing many people use her. I wanted to know what type of anchor and secondary should i use behind her to keep pressure on the opponent. I’m thinking something like
