Well first off I think cops in the US need to have their training program shredded then rewrote completely, too many disasters going on with that one. The story you linked is just more proof of that.

Am not normally vindicative and all about eye for an eye “bitch had it comming” etc, but I need to look at this in the context of, this is an 80 year old man who was jumped while comming home to see people trashing the place.

Nobody in here can say for certain they will make it to 80, nobody in this thread has any idea the amount of fear that was going through the old mans head, his rational thinking ability must have been completely fucked, when he gave his statement to the press how soon after the attack was it?

In this case, I say fuck that bitch, she was heartless and probably an inch away from being a murderer herself. As for US cops, cant really have anything nice to say about them, in the other thread which is still going a team of NYC cops murder a guy over some smokes, its all sad and a bunch of bullshit.

I love how some people here are assuming that she was indeed pregnant when is not confirmed yet that she was telling the truth and not just trying to appeal some sympathy from the man who she and her accomplice attacked to the point of breaking his collar bone.
Not to mention that her accomplice is suspected of murder, who knows if she was also implicated on that too.

I don’t mean to make it seem that I’m assuming she was pregnant, because I’m not. But what I do have a problem with is that, assuming that she was, these idiots making assumptions about how the life of that supposed unborn child would have turned out.

You can’t blame the old man in this case. They beat him up and broke his collarbone (you know how long that will take to heal on an 80 year old!?), and then run. If they just left without touching him, I would think it was wrong. However after getting pummelled and getting his collar bone broken (which by most accounts is an incredibly painful injury), he is not going to calmly let them go, and honestly they don’t deserve to be let go. It’s just a shame the other assailant apparently survived.

OK man, I will concede your point about not knowing how the life of an unborn child will turn out, if she was even pregnant like she claimed.

But her claiming that she was pregnant and using it as a shield is pretty useless. That gash just robbed and assaulted an old man, and so he armed himself and killed her. Fuck that bitch. She deserved what she got. If she was that concerned about her “alleged” unborn child, she shouldn’t have been robbing and assaulting people in the first place.

Poor kid. Sucks that its mother was such a rotten piece of shit. Oh well. Guess we’ll never know how it would have turned out, but I doubt anyone is losing too much sleep over it.

im not talking about the kid. Im talking about maiming someone even if you are in the right, and then civil court you get sued into oblivion because of said maiming. Its happened ALOT. If you are going to pull the gun out, shoot to kill. The dead can’t sue you for fucking them up because they robbed you in the first place. crazy, but thats how the law works. criminal court condemns the robber and civil court they get to take you for EVERYTHING because you defended yourself.

I think the situation might have transpired as followed: The two perps enter victim’s house, confront and kick his ass and then commence to collect loot, but owner pulls off sick recovery (80 years old with a broken collarbone!), gets his gun, which perps notice, panic and attempt to exit the premises, and then due to whatever reason the dumbass bitch decides to halt on her tracks, try to swindle the old man with claims of being pregnant and gets blown away.

Justified? Nah, old dude controlled the situation and I personally don’t think killing ever is, but absolutely nothing to blame the guy for IMO, plus I do belive Florida has that stand-your-ground law and all that.

(Saw this on the local news this morning before I fell asleep. Only thing that surprises me here is that the couple was white, really. Then again, this did happen in Long Beach, so…)

On the one hand, this is probably murder if what’s been reported about her horror movie actress fall is true, especially given that Califorinia is rather stringent about when it’s “appropriate” to defend your self. While there are times where I think that California’s self-defense laws should be more relaxed even as much I personally don’t like guns, at least we don’t have those ridiculous “Stand Your Ground (Against Minorities, Mostly)” laws here (yet).

On the other hand, even if it is murder and the guy gets charged, I still don’t really care. I think what he did was “understandable” rather than, say, “right” and there’s no love lost that this woman is in the ground. Considering that the couple had assaulted him before, probably would have killed if they had the chance and didn’t care about their unborn child if it even actually existed, I can’t say she’ll really be missed. You could try to make the case that may be they were stealing to try to support their unborn child or some bullshit, but, unless you’re an idiot who probably shouldn’t be reproducing anyway, you don’t steal from someone’s house for that.

That said, I’m not going to be one of those people who are ridiculously trying to determine that the child would have assuredly turned out to be some type of criminal like its mother. It’s likely that may have happened if they kept the child, but who knows what or who it would have turned out to be or if it would have even lived past birth/infancy. Now it gets to be nothing if it actually existed in the first place.

Speaking of which, I wonder how long it will take them to confirm if she was actually pregnant and not just trying to manipulate his emotions, in vain, to save her life. I wouldn’t put past her to be outright lying since women thieves are like that, though of course that wouldn’t make it any less murder on the old man’s part.

Ultimately, her being pregnant doesn’t really matter: she’s dead now for reasons she brought on herself, even if her death probably isn’t legally justifiable (in California). Tough shit.

And im not sure how it works in your hood, but down here if burglars know you have firearms it only makes them more keen and if they are fiends as well then word will spread and your house comes on radar for more opportunistic burglars.

And the unfortunate reality is that some people won’t fucking learn or try to better themselves until people start dying.
