I wonder how all the people saying he should be charged would feel if this was their great grandfather. Do you know how brittle an 80 year old can be? She could have easily killed him had he not gotten his gun. What? He’s all of a sudden in the wrong and they’re no longer posing a threat because they ran? 
That’s the dumbest shit I ever heard. First of all, they ran because they saw the gun. There was no remorse, there was no change of mind or intent. They thought, “oh shit, he can defend himself now… RUN!” What if they didn’t see the gun and he shot them? Is it cool then because they didn’t know they were in danger and should run? Would you argue that he’s still at fault because he didn’t give them the chance to change their mind? If that’s the case, the gun might as well not ever be loaded, because no one in their right mind is going to continue an attack if the victim pulls a gun. What if he got them before they made it out? They still ran, so he was no longer in danger, right? Or was it warranted because they hadn’t made it outside yet? Do you see how dumb this shit is?

At the end of the day the happenstances of what actually happened are what appear to be cloudy. But people making it out like he flat out executed her. There would be no talk if this happened in the house and he snuck up on them and bang bang. But instead they ran away when seeing the gun and he clapped the girl who LIED to save her own skin by saying she was pregenant.
End of the day if someone is willing to go into YOUR HOME to steal not only your things but your safety then its justified. End of story. They say home invasions are one of the scariest and most traumatic things that can happen to people. And he had it happen to him 3 times!!! They were terrorizing some 80 year old man who finally got the opportunity to defend himself. And good on him.
It’s not about the burglar I have no pity for her, it’s about right and wrong. You dont shoot someone who is defenseless from the back. He deserve to be punished.
Umm… What about when he was defenseless? They beat and robbed him in his own home. This whole “the winner is at fault” thing regarding confrontation gotta stop, especially when they’re not the one who initiated the conflict.
That’s one of the differences that reminds me how lucky I am to leave in europe. No one has the right to kill except in self defense. Self defense is when you are in danger, not when the guys are fleeing and you shoot them in the back. I must remind you that self defense does not include the right to execute justice oneself after the fact. I said it and I’ll say it again i have no feeling or pity at all for the burglar but they deserve to be judged in court, do you still think you’re living in the far west or what?
So, let me get this straight… If I run up on you, beat the shit out of you, take your wallet/phone/watch and run, do you no longer have the right to chase me down and whoop my ass? Are you at fault because I ran away after I did what I came to do? Should YOU be charged with assault because it’s no longer “self-defense”?
What you guys need to understand is that the law is not perfect. It tries its best, but it cannot adequately account for every possible situation. There will ALWAYS be loopholes and gray areas, and this is a perfect example. The man was defending himself. They broke into his home, attacked him, beat him, and robbed him. In defense of himself, his belongings, and his home, he got his gun. Upon seeing the gun, they started running and he gave chase.
Stop right there.
This isn’t some kind of video game where all you have to do is make it to a check point and you’re all of a sudden in the clear. Their running doesn’t relieve them of the possibility of consequence. Why even have a gun for self-defense purposes if all you’re actually allowed to do is brandish it, scare your attackers, and let them run off with your belongings with the possibility of returning for revenge? Answer me this: In what scenario would you consider it warranted for him to use the gun he purchased for a situation such as this one?
few years ago, a guy was chasing someone yelling “help! robbery!”. the other guy held a small bag of his.
suddenly he stopped and turned back to face the other guy. he who chased him and screamed help, suddenly got scared and run away! I was dumbfounded!
that happened years ago. we were aggravated during that time. but in retrospect, things could have gone much worse.

My mom, aunt, and grandmother have faced their fair share of struggles, and they’ve never broken into an old man’s home, beat him, and robbed him. There are other ways. Stop trying to justify her actions. She made her bed, and now she’s laying in it.
Not saying I would’ve shot her had I been in that situation, but I DO NOT fault this man for doing so.
