Sharpening my claws.. Vega(Claw) Wants/Needs

Lot of good stuff in here. Homing on his ultra seems unnecessary. A different kind of Ultra would be excellent instead. Most of the other comments I can agree with.

Claw roll seems like it could definitely be improved, anything but the weak version is just useless it seems. I could be terribly wrong here it has been a while.

Maybe his sliding kick a bit faster? He just kind of oozes along the ground instead of quickly sliding. Not sure if that’d infringe to much on Blanka’s territory then though.

I would like it personally if the changes caused by losing the claw/mask were lessened a bit.

Ultimately just tune him a bit so hes slightly better at what he can do already. Yeah he is good at poking but his combos are relatively weak/short (as far as I know?). Assuming that is the case, keep him that way, don’t homogenize the game, just give his specials a bit more impact. I really think he needs a lot less work than some think. He seems like a character that could go from crap to being overpowered VERY easily through just a few tweaks due to his relatively unique moves/abilities (wall jump, air grab, jumping dodge backwards, sliding strong crouch kick, etc)

I know something that hasn’t been mentioned yet - change the DB charge for ST back to simply B. Jumping straight up and ruining my only (half assed) AA option is pretty lame imo. I don’t see why it shouldn’t be simply a ‘back’ charge anyways or why they even changed it.

Make that overhead looking kick actually an overhead.

Make Scarlet Terror better (priority), and rolling crystal flash usefull.

Comboable ultra.

Make his slide faster, you can see it coming a mile away.

Overall make him faster in everyway.

What if when he loses his claw his stance changes where his close combat specials are improved but loses most of his long range specials. would b interesting :smiley:

It’s always been back. There was a glitch in ST where after you charged down-back, you could hold back and not lose the down portion of the charge, but I don’t think it was intended.

Claw needs a better get up reversal. DF,F+K is not as good as it use to be on SF2 and Alpha.

Boost up the claw attack damage.

Make piece of mercury an actual overhead

Boost up Izuna Drop attack damage (He drops you on your neck for god sake)

Startup on the rolling crystal flash its ridiculous, it should be way faster.

Loose the lame ass dance step after Scarlet Terror

What if Vega just gets the best backdash in the game? That would be pretty good for wakeup.

Can we make it so that whiffed walldives can’t be punished by Ryu’s Ultra?

Also, the ST thing about Vega is true. He is rumored to be one of the simplest and non technicals characters ever (not say that it doesn’t take any skill to win… maybe that was put a bit wrong)

Jumping straight up would also break a backwards charge.

You have that round the wrong way. It’s always been :db:, but the glitch in ST allowed you to switch to a :l: position to hold the charge once the charge had been built, and then execute whilst walking backwards or blocking standing.

This was removed in HD and subsequent games so that if you move to just :l: and not :db:, you lose the ability to perform the move and have to build the charge again.

I can totally see that, my friend who sucks at fighting games could use him pretty decently in ST.

Jup. This was also the reason why it was so insanely hard to get in on Vega. Not only did he walk fast and control the space in front of him, he even had ST charge storing.

Bring back “Handsome fighters never lose battles” win quote and make win quote “Get on your knees and worship my beauty” selectable.

I find Vega VERY capable right now already, and I think any changes he gets will be for the better, and will PROBABLY bump him up in tier.
One of the more obvious things I think they WILL do is add invincibility frames on certain moves, and I think that ALONE is enough to bump him to lower-mid.
Anything further will make him amazing and, imo, a much deeper Vega than his previous incarnations. I’ve never had fun using Vega until SFIV. Improved SFIV Vega is the way to go for me, not a shift towards ST Vega. That’s my say in the matter.

The Tier List isn’t that important. What’s more important is that the difference between top and bottom tier gets closer than what it is now. I think it’s something like 40 - 45 points if you include Console chars, with Vega being next to Dan.

If they could drop the difference by 15-20 points I’d be happy even if it means Vega stays bottom tier, because it would imply more balanced matchups.

I think giving vega back his red Impact super from Capcom Vs Snk 2 cam be useful and easier to combo into.

Vega’s Claws should probably get longer. I would like his claws to reach about half screen when on, and act as spikes on the ground when they are knocked off. Preferably, they would act like spikes in Megaman games, and opponents would have to jump over them or die. They should also stab opponents who walk to close while in neutral position.

Only retards fell for that shit everytime. ARG never did walldives unless the opponent was down, and even then it was not guaranteed damage.

You’re complaining about walldives in a game with ToD combos, inescapable tick-throws, safe shoryukens, and Old Sagat?
