Yeah, but the difference is that type of invincibility doesn’t exist in SF4. SF4 invincibility is determined by which part of the hurtbox “disappears” during that portion of the move, while SFxT also has invincibility that corresponds to the type of move the opponent is doing. So unless they implement this type of invincibility, it will not be as good as an anti air move.
Capcom could give it the same treatment that they gave Dudley’s EX Duck, which has upper body invincibility but can get hit low. If they give her invincibility from the waist down, that might work. That said, it depends on how many frames there are until her legs face upwards and not towards her opponent.
Doesn’t ibuki’s :mp: and Cody’s as well beat air attacks clean? If so just give her :lp: DP that property. No free jumping in for you!!! Only move that should have full body invincibility is EX DP
all her punch button are great AA’s as well/ :lp: for close jump ins :mp: for mid jump ins and :hp: for far jump ins. Gosh I hope they let those moves juggle on counter hits.
also I hope she has a fast recovery on her DP. Better than Dudley’s but not better than Ken’s. That would be godllike
upper body ‘invincibility’ in SF4 like lower hurt box works well against your standard anti air… but it’s a complete different story if it’s done during your wake up… because your opponent hits much deeper…
take T-Hawk’s HP DP for example… it’s start up frame is something like 8 frames… but got upper body invincibility… in the end… the move kinda sucks… but it’s mainly because of the slow start up frames… if you can see the jump early… the move isn’t bad…
I think during wake up if they keep the exact same properties as SFxT… you will need the ex DP to keep people off you…

Yes she has long limbs but she is more of a mix up characters with highs and lows.
:f::mp: +4/5 on hit || on block 0/-1 . This is the slower overhead
:f::mk: +3 on hit || on block -4/-5. This is he faster overhead. Both version will be able to link attacks after PLEASE
:d::hp: +6/7 on hit, forces stand(if it hits crouching opponents unlike in SFxT …)|| +2/1 on block. Elena has really slow limbs If frame data will be similar to SfxT her fastest normals are standing :lk: 3 frames, :d::lk: 4 frames and :d::lp: 4 frames) every other normal comes out in 6 frames or higher.
rhino should be like it is in SFxT miss crouching opponents. if it is block it -1 or something.
Mallet mash should continue to have it’s insane + frames on block and on hit :D.
I think lynx tail was kind of broken because she can cancel the recovery animation to anything. Do what you think is most fit.
Spin Sytche is a joke. Make the first part of it a true block string, so people won’t focus through the second hit. The damage was also pitiful in sfxt. But I’m pretty sure we will be able to FADC the hit to continue a combo because that moves has a ton of hit stun. So if this is the case just make it a true block string and it can keeps its pitiful damage
Hope slide still can go under fireballs. as well as ex rhino horn.
Juggle pontetial should match Ibuki and Dudley.

I don’t like the F+MK comboing if it stays at 12 frame start up… Maybe +1 or 2 so on CH you can combo off of it but if they leave it at a 12 frame start up that seems a bit strong?
I agree with Rhino Horn though. At least 1 version should hit crouchers.
She has 5 frame moves too like st.lp and st.mp. I’m hoping that they find more use in comparison to her SFxT self.
I hope they don’t fix her corner pass through glitch from SFxT. After finding that glitch I found so many silly damage opportunities.
As it stands though. I’m unsure of who I will main. I love mah gurl Elena, but Koto, Poison, AND Rolento?! I gotta spend the next 6 months contemplating who to main…
I don’t think her high/low game in 3s was very good. if people have the impression that she’s a mixup character I assume it must come from SFxT because it was not that effective in third strike.
there’s something to be said for making her like her 3s version, which would give her a solid degree of separation from most SF4 characters and their “jab jab jab” confirm BNBs. if she has good walk speed, a back roundhouse that beats lows and divekicks, killer throw range, and a low strong good for counterpoking/whiff punishing (her bnbs should start off low strong) she would be a fun interesting character and not another jab confirm character which we already have plenty of.
Didn’t know if it was 12 frames lol. Ok it should be as fast as dudleys overhead (15 cframes) if we can link an attack after it… if I’m not mistaken I think her:f::mp:is like 20 frames.
Ex version of rhino horn hits crouching opponents…and it should stay like this because all version are + on block.
also since ex mallet mash won’t floor bounce anymore it will be so broken lol if it doesn’t cause a hard knock down. :mp: version is +10 on hit and +4 on block. I swear the ex version will be like +15 on hit and +8 on block… It will be a broken as Cammy’s ex dive kick

I don’t agree with all of the non EX Rhino’s not hitting crouchers. I at least want slow ass HK Rhino horn to hit crouchers it’s +0 on block and it would make a great tool to get in that’s not OP. But if left similar to how it is in SFxT then it will be another button that never gets used.
I found it about 5 Months ago check it out. Or to summarize. EX Rhino puts them in a special state if you tag in your partner can walk through them. And in the corner Elena can walk through them.
I used to do gymnastics and Elena along with Cammy are bar far the closest to true gymnast fighting style in this game. I really like Elena’s flare move, I’m not sure what it’s called. Is it any good?
EDIT. Yea Lynx tail is pretty good. Causes a hard knock down, some what safe because of the push back and ex version is GOLD and you can combo into it.
just fyi lk scratch wheel does not have air crush properties in sfxt, it’s just got upper body invincibility from 1f~airborne frames. if capcom wanted they could translate this pretty easily to sf4, and i hope they do.
So I’m a Honda main, but of course I’m looking for a character that can cover my bad match ups. I am not familiar at all with Elena, but want to know what type of character she represents. We have a small amount of video footage and knowledge on the past iterations of her in other games. Clearly 3s characters are not gonna play the same in this engine. On the limited data we have, but with the current status of the game in mind, what can we expect to be good and bad match-ups?
hard to know. they can go two possible directions - footsie character with a couple gimmicky mixup normals, or mixup character who has a couple decent buttons.
