SFxTekken General Discussion Thread

Funny thing is that ex3 seems more similar to tekken tag than this game.

I’m kind of interested in how they are selecting the characters for this game. I mean surely they are gonna go for some rivalries, but at the same time it would make sense imo from a casual point of view to not put in certain rivalries such Fei vs Law because, face it, a casual is gonna look at the game and be like “wow those two characters look exactly the same”. This is why I think they are gonna focus more on rivalries that still are obvious but don’t feature near identical characters. Something like Dudley vs, Bruce vs Sagat, Gief vs Kuma, etc.

At the same time, there’s gonna be a number of characters that won’t have rivalries but Capcom may want to put in that don’t have a clear counter part. Bryan Fury, for example, is a pretty popular character. At the same time, who would be his counterpart? (Actually if you asked me I’d say Bison but that’s beside the point).

Also some less obvious rivalries would be cool like Jack vs Q for some robot fun or Lee vs Vega for max beauty.

as long as people buy their games, they wouldnt see the netcode as a selling point for them, and wouldnt see the necesity to improve it
the only way that they would learn is if the game flops hard, the problem with that sceneario is that they would probably assume that fg arent profitable instead of assuming it was for their terrible netcode

No built in comeback mechanic. Fuck. Yes.

Now all I need to know is whether Dudley and Dragunov are in this game or not. If so, then this is my main game forever.

That’s assuming the game will flop because of their terrible netcode which it won’t.

thats why it has an IF before the proposed scenario
a merly hypothesis based on a theorical premise that as i stated is beyond probable, since people would still buy the game despite how good or bad would be the netcode in the end, and we dont need to be Nostradamus to know that the netcode would be subpar as always

But as you wrote it you made it seems that IF the game does flop, it will be because of the netcode and that won’t happen.

Horrible netcode, sadly, is something to expect from fighting games.

I have a PHD in Advanced Knowledge and I don’t know WHAT the fuck I’m reading.

I really wish your cynicism was unfounded. I really do.

He also appears in Fighter Maker.

You do realise that Law has more than one costume don’t you? Only one of Law’s costumes is similar to Fei-Long’s usual costume.

Or are you saying that Paul cannot appear in the game because he is blonde and wears a red gi like Ken does and that he shouldn’t appear in his black leather costume instead?

And if you’re so concerned about casuals, why is Ken in the game when he’s just Ryu with blonde hair in red? Those poor little casuals must be so confused by this.

lol if you think capcom would ever in a million years allow you to select another costume without giving them money

i hope elena is in cause i think her and eddie would make a cute couple :lovin::lovin::angel::shy:

Every character, or at LEAST every SF character by the time the game is done should just have one the goes into an EX move then into Super. That’s the idea. And it’s a really cool idea. To me at least.

The hostility over a simple thinking out loud post is astounding to me. But whatever, I’ll humor you.

There’s a bigger visual difference between say Fei and Law and Ryu and Ken. And yeah, maybe casuals wasn’t the right word. Basically, take someone who knows nothing about either game, like one of those god awful Kotaku previewers. You’re kidding yourself if you seriously think someone like that wouldn’t see two Bruce Lee clones and write them off as the same character. It doesn’t even matter what costume. Give Fei his standard costume and Law his game of death costume and at the end of the day you still have two Bruce Lee clones. You know they aren’t the same character and I know they aren’t the same character, but not everyone will. Same can be said about Ganryu and Honda, dress 'em any way you like and you still have two sumo wrestlers, and that may be off putting to some.

You can’t honestly be sitting there and telling me with a straight face that someone whose never been exposed to anything SF related is going to look at Ryu and Ken and say that they are the same character. We’re talking purely about aesthetics here. They both wear a gi, thats basically where the similarities end. Theres a difference between similar outfit and similar overall appearance.

Whatever, this is a ridiculous argument that I don’t even feel strongly about, doesn’t affect anything, and honestly should have never been started in the first place.

well shit. I want her in just cuz.

remove the would and put could, happy

the funny thing is that im pretty sure that txs would give you the alternate costumes for free like in tekken 6

Trollno at it again

And how would you determine if it is the netcode’s fault? If the game flops, it’ll be up to a team to determine why, and if they decide that fighting game’s were only a passing fad, then there goes the game.

Not buying these games out of protest for netcode without a large organized effort doesn’t accomplish anything unless a mass of people let Capcom know they didn’t buy the game FOR the netcode.

And it begins!

Character select screen looks sexy.

I doubt that would decide that it’s a passing fad off of one game not selling well.

Huh? I didn’t say I wasn’t going to buy the game. I’m going to buy it regardless of shitty netcode.
