SFxTekken General Discussion Thread

I was under the impression that was about using characters that aren’t in the SFIV series so that could apply to characters like Karin and Hugo.

Ono says a lot of shit (that isn’t true). For all we know he was referring to the tekken cast. If he was, you can’t say he lied. Dude trolls like that.

No way. They’ll recycle as much SF4 characters as they can to save budget.
Even the new moves are based on existing SF4 animations like Ryu’s fireball charge.

Will this game have focus attacks?
Btw Marduks back needs to be toned down a little bit, his head/shoulders/back are not proportionate

Actually the charged specials system has that ‘focus attack’ feel to them, although the payoff is way different. Other than that there will not be Focus Attacks far as we know.

Marduk is an animal, nay a beast.

I don’t think if has focus attacks per se but I did see some charge attack that starts up in a similar fashion to FAs with a red lightning bolt instead of black ink. I saw King use his one to counter Ryu’s air tatsumaki with a leg throw.

The only similarity between the charge attacks and focus is that you can charge them up… they really aren’t that similar…

What I remember from the Avoiding the Puddle podcast (shoutouts to Aris) is that Mark Man has said that Ryu can charge his Hadoken, and Chun can charge Legs. Apparently, if you charge his Hado, it eventually turns into EX and then if you charge it longer it turns into Super, at no cost of meter.

Skullomania. Sadly, he will never appear outside of EX

I wonder if charging will be enough of a drawback to balance out the fact that apparently, “EXs” don’e require meter now.

There’s still cost, though. The inherent cost of charging an attack is mobility, rather than meter. I’d say it trades off nicely.

Don’t you still have normal EX moves that do cost meter, they’re just meterless for the charge…

The charge times in the preview builds look really long though, the free EXes look like they’d b ehard to call effectively, and the free supers look like they’re combo vid only type material, at least from the way the previews looked.

You still have normal EX moves yes. The charge ones will NOT replace those, esp since they come out so much later than normal EX moves.

Plus it’s only for the move property/that charges.

Skullomania??? Wtf he has nothing common with Yoshimitsu.

You also can’t tag cancel charge attacks, so charging recklessly is really not a good idea.

I was wondering since I didn’t see charged supers in any vids, but do they have long recovery times?

Looks like a mix between TVSC and SF4. The impact seems more prominent with a mix of Tekken effects.

Something i wish Capcom would do is make the Hado - Hadoken animation more engaging, seems after the charge the fireball is not as exciting. Instead of the 8/9 hits it does, would be cool to have it explode large in the guts/impact and blow your opponent across the page as i would imagine a hadoken to do in real life (i know its not real :D).

The effect need to be more a splurge of energy bursting from impact.

I don’t see a lick of TvC in this but I don’t have your eyes.

i mean the way the action connects hits (almost like a slight pause between each connect makes) and the combos theat can be done (besides air combos) because its a tag game with 2 players per side. Obviously not TvC 100% but some elements i reckon.

One thing id be interested in is how hard the timing are for the combos, i found SF4 quite hard to adopt for long strings on particular players and eg. combo/String/Focus Cancel/Super or Ultra.

I want some more rage in the voice, Kazuya ‘‘says Dorya’’ not like DORYA!!!

there is nothing about tvc on sfxt
nothing
