I’d go for a little bit of both. I like how the trailer has four pairs, but Chun-Li and Bob are “marketed” as being independent. This way, you satisfy fantasy matchups (i.e. Sakura-Karin vs. Asuka-Lili) while still ensuring those who “work” independently have a chance. Ideally, each character in the game should fill some kind of playstyle niche. After all, I’m dying for Fuerte to be in this game and the only viable partners for him are T. Hawk, Zangief, R. Mika, and E. Honda by off chance. Oh, and Xiaoyu getting in would be fantastic.
I think the model similarities are pseudo-placeholders. From the looks of things, Marduk was probably the most recently added as the others (even Bob) look like they have their own models. When I first saw Marduk, I couldn’t help but notice that he’s built almost exactly like Hakan. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the models refined more to give the Tekken characters a more unique aesthetic feel.
What I say is, when you give Law the SF4 make-over he looks almost like a twin brother of fei-long, And Law has a f,f 2,1,3 that is identical to that rekka move that feilong has, I would rather see 1 of them in the game and give them someone else as a rival, Like Fei long vs Feng wei, you guys really want to waste slots for rather identical characters? I would be surprised if Rufus made it in the game.
I would actually have to regress myself to argue against this. So I won’t. Good luck with your logic string, though it’s kinda easy to block. Try some mixups!
And please; don’t do the internet tough guy thing it’s embarrassing for all parties.
You think it’s wrong to discuss about not having very similar characters in the game? I guess its an american thing, its always black or white never something in between
Capcom has rights to tekken characters right now and can choose over 50 streetfighter characters from older series, they probably want to make this game with varied character as much as possible, now you have ryu, akuma, ken that are similar, capcom wants to have them in because from a business point they are way too popular to cut the from the roster
No, I think your comparisons of Fei and Law’s play style is far reaching and a poor excuse to not have them in the game.
Bad points know no international limits.
Ono’s an epic troll, but not a drama queen. FG community are the drama queens who make entire threads and get furious over every one of his tweets. And of course this is SF4 vs Tekken. Just like we had CotA vs SF (XvSF). How is this note worthy?
And no console war baits, please. Few things are as pathetic on the internets.
if you truly believe that law a great char with a lot of moves that have a good potential to make him a true 2d bruce lee conter part is the same char as that joke called fei long, you are truly blind, and dellusional
What you talking about? Did you see Kings movelist in Tekken? okay check his movelist in the sf x tekken.
King has like 6 moves and then his normals, Law would be no different. Law has over 100 moves, in SF he would not. so take that he has alot of moves away, because he would be gimped alot, I am hype for this game anyways. honestly if you could choose 1 from the series, E honda or Ganryu who would you choose?
of course that he wouldnt have all the same moves you idiot, what im saying is that he have a lot of moves and maybe only one resembles one of the feilong moves, he has a good variey of moves where they can choose to make him unique and not similar to that joke called fei long, though im wouldnt be surprised that capcom would fuck him making him another joke
If capcom had infinity time they would done this but they dont, ono said there are going to inevitable character cuts, so I think if they would include Law and not fei long they would compensate that having e honda in the game and not ganryu, but thats just in my mind
Because some people are asking if we’ll see older characters (not in sf4 series) in this one. I say since Ono’s at the helm, he’s not going to use any characters that weren’t in his series. No Birdie, Rolex (Zero 2 alpha announcer, y’all), Poison, Maki, etc.
That doesn’t really address the drama queen thing, in fact it kinda helps my point.
If Ono’s team is willing to create new characters (the entire Tekken roster), then I don’t see why he’d be against using SF characters who weren’t in SSF4AE. In fact evidence supports there will be returning faces. SF4 is his gig, but only a few characters were made new in it, everybody else came from older SF games (with much love to Alpha and 3rdS).
If anything his track record shows he’s willing to dive into SF canon for whoever. I don’t know where you get this idea of Ono being a self-absorbed prick about SF4. Truth be told that series is the most fan friendliest SF to date. It’s essentially SFvSF, dream match roster and all.
I really don’t see any reason to think this, far from in fact. He filled “his” Street Fighter with charecters who weren’t his with the smallest portion of new fighters in the series.
