People just say that because she’s I believe, ranked bottom by far in the game and such. Something about Valkenhayn and Ragna being able to do everything she can do without having to charge her weapon meter first. Speaking of which, a lot of people say Ragna’s probably the most newbie friendly character to pick up as he’s well, essentially Terry Bogard in terms of moves, but without a fireball and with a sword uppercut. Or something.
Ragna is by far the easiest character to pick up. Even his high end combos require slightly above average execution (At best) and he is also in the top 3 best characters in the game. Between him and Valkenhayn.
Tsubaki is weak, Yeah. But a Great Tsubaki will always beat a mediocre Ragna.
EDIT: No wait, Thats a lie.
I would say Noel is easier really, noone has mashable moves in the game like her. Especially when they mash into a combo.
Not sure a lot of the main stores in Europe stock BB games so from what Ive seen the community in Europe is there but its quite small compared to SFxT. I enjoyed Blazblue until they released CS which was mostly the same game with the same characters and day 1 dlc characters which I thought was a pretty disgusting strategy. SFxT isnt without filthy DLC tactics either. Both games are total DLC whores so netiher one seems better on that point.
BB looks nice, its online is solid and it has some interesting game play.
SFxT graphically is nothing special but its ok, the online is pretty weak at times with rollback sound issues and a few other things. The gameplay is inconsistent compared to BB (lots of random input bugs ie blocking on pad on 360 doesnt work properly 100% of the time) it also has a heavy amount of inconsistencies between platforms with PS3 basically getting everything and PC and 360 getting screwed by not being allowed 2 players on 1 console. Most of what I have said is pretty negative about the game but I still find aspects of the game to be fun and Capcom will probably support the game quite well with patches from the sounds of things so I expect in the long term that this game will be better than BB on that basis because Arc seem to just release an entirely new version of almost the same game every year. Ive found BB to be the most expensive for less value (taking into account that we know about all the DLC for SFxT, theyll probably charge 1200 points for 12 characters or something where BB have charged 560point I think it was for characters like Makoto and Valkenhayn)
I love BB and SFxT is fun, both games I still have big issues with but I think SFxT looks like it will last longer as it will be supported a bit better with updates and dlc rather than constant disc releases and that I feel is the clincher for me between those 2 games.
Though really you have overlooked the FG of the year so far with great graphics, fun gameplay and customisation, lots of depth, already had a rebalance patch (so recieving good support from Namco) and the best online experience of any fighter so far. Soul Calibur V. SCV is a great game and in Europe it has a very strong following.
My verdict: Soul Calibur V
A good Tsubaki will chew her opponent’s face off. Pick anyone you like and you’ll do well if you put in the practice. Litch is also still very very strong in Extend.
In CT probably. But in CSE wasnt Noel nerved too?
Noel was never super easy to learn to play well. Scrubs just freaked out and had no idea how to react to newbies who mashed Drive (when, it’s actually rather easy to use against the player and kick their ass for trying). And as a Noel main since CT, I wouldn’t say she’s been “nerfed” from CS2 to CSX, as much as I’d say “changed”. Think of it as the Litchi transition from CS1 to CS2. She may have lost a bit of damage on things and the traditional Haida Loop (even though one still exists), but they gave her some speed and meter gain, for instance. Oh, and made Assault Through wallbounce, which is godly, and amazing.
- I can’t say for SFxT. Blazblue seems to be balanced as really few chars are in the low/bottom category.
2)Definitely Blazblue. The characters are very unique and interesting.
3)I do believe SFxT has a much bigger community than Blazblue in europe (then again I only know of Blazblue’s french community, which is small).
4)There are some one frame links in blazblue and sfxt but in blazblue you don’t really fell like you’re linking anything since it’s almost like in mvc3. In sfxt most of them aren’t necessary unless you want max damages or something (correct me if I’m wrong.). If you want combo creativity then I’d definitely go for Blazblue.
Noel has been pretty badly nerfed in CSE, she isn’t the beast she was in CSII.
Tsubaki, queen of negative-on-block
Noel’s still pretty beasty, Boodendorf. It’s just to get use out of those really damaging combos and stuff, you have to have a bit higher skill than in CS2. Like, admittedly her BnB corner combo that did 4.2k in CS2, isn’t nearly as hard as her 3.8k corner BnB here. But that being said, she has 3.5k+ midscreen combos, a Haida Loop variant that can net over 5k if linked into the corner, a 5k corner combo with a Distortion finisher, AND and 7k meterless corner combo. Along with a couple of character specific things and an insanely good 4D.
And I actually thought she had been nerfed down to oblivion at first. Well I didn’t bother to look at much CSE gameplay after one or two weeks after it was out so I might have missed out on the good noel stuff. Thanks for telling.
No worries. Though, they nerfed a bit of her Chain Revolver stuff in that you can only special cancel after the first hit now.
Noel isn’t easy to play at a high level. Most of her drives are free to certain moves. 2D is 100% free to a good AA, 4D to a good low ect. People just complain when they get scrubbed out to 2D mashers.
Her 3C still does retarded damage in the corner. Her 6B is slow as hell and can be punished by Bangs 2D for free. Noels entire chain revolver is free to a well placed 6D / 623B. She was a complete horror in CS2 getting near enough 5K from 2D, But now she seems perfect.
I main Bang, and Bang is a complete animal now. I love getting a full corner carry after landing a 6C anywhere anytime.
BB, of course. It should be refreshing to play after SFIV, rather than going for SFxT which has similar gameplay.
BB has a lot of leeway for creativity, but this depends on your character. Some characters are more flexible than others, but pretty much all of the cast has some degree of creativity or another.
Don’t be fooled that it’s going to be pick-up-and-play. There is a lot of matchup knowledge required for high-level. Thankfully, execution and character knowledge should be the easier things to pick up on, though if you’re picking Litchi, expect to stay in training mode for a while!
She was nerfed and her basic combos are a bit more difficult now, with Spring Raid and Assault Through being more common, she isn’t super easy to learn, but no-one else in this game really is either. The game isn’t too difficult technically anyway, there is a lot of leniency in inputs, the biggest thing to watch out for during combos is spacing.
EDIT: Also, to the people who seem to be attacking me for stating that, the same can be said of any character, even Ragna, if you predict what they are going to do you can always counter it immediately. Of course if Noel is simply using the same drive chain on you over and over it will be easy to predict and counter. (2D is a bit of a problem for Valkenhayn though >.< 6A can beat it, but it needs to be early, haven’t tried 2C but I wouldn’t be surprised if it lost) Most of what you seem to be saying is difficult about Noel is beating people at a high level, which is fair, but the character itself is not all that difficult to learn as far as characters in this game go.
Valkenhayn isn’t too difficult either once you get your movement down and there’s a lot of room to expand into some more complicated tactics when you are ready. Just be ready to block jump ins a lot.
I’d say SFxT just because there are more people to play. BB is nice but it has a much higher barrier to entry ans by the time you get by it, chances are you won’t find much competition.
Just thought I’d point this out but…most good Noels will NOT start a combo with a Drive move if they can avoid it.
