SFxT General Discussion #4 - Witty title

Man, discovering that Bryan has a safe jump after Mach Breaker makes me feel incredibly silly that I felt I discovered something useful yesterday with one for Gatling Combination >>

Drop Nina…

…when I get back. You can do whatever when I’m gone. Also, you KNOW I had to end my last set with you on a P, even if I got wrecked for 10+ rounds in a row. The only ones I won were the ones where I took the W before Nina even showed up. So about 3-4 out of nearly 20. At least it hardly lagged.

  1. Dat bold, man. Seriously though, I’m wondering why you aren’t a B+ yet. With your Nina play, you SHOULD be an A or higher in my eyes. A in a B’s clothing.

  2. But Poison gets hit and hurt much easier than Rolento. Rolento has ways out of bad scenarios and a couple of good tricks. Poison has nothing but a whip. >_>

Poke her. She’s got the reach of an infant. She’s evil up-close, but she has probably some of the worst tools to get up close with. Just keep the game down to some pokes and a well-confirmed finishing combo. It’s not THAT simple, but I don’t think she’s op. Underestimated, yea, but I wouldn’t put her higher than mid-tier. Her poor reach is too much against her for that.

Jin can back dash though. He can wake up and jump away, or he can just mash buttons/crouch tech. That makes it harder to deal with.

Worst in the game keeps jumping from Ibuki, Poison, Hugo, and Sakura. =/

That NuckleDu Vs Chris G match was crazy, way too many good reads, made Hwo/Chun look like they’re the worst characters in the game

I thought Blanka was generally considered in the running for bottom 6 as well.

Even though he is my best character, I have to think that Bryan has to be pretty far down there. I think he has some great things in neutral but up close he requires strong reads to convert damage quickly or eat an inevitable DP because everything is so damn unsafe. Even his tools in neutral can mostly by neutral jump punished. To be fair I haven’t played anyone who could do this yet so I do not know how easy it is for Bryan to punish neutral jumps with HP Fisherman, but it seems a glaring weakness.

Not to mention that Law kind of does everything he doebut better, although that does not factor in tier rank.

Pure sf team beating top tiers. Nerf crapcom!

Finally i can play this with my account on new console also. Couldn’t remember my password, but founded out my email and it was enough to sort things out. Was going to ask help to get my dl charas and alt costumes back, but it seems they are ā€œalready purchatedā€ in store

Yeah, getting someone to rage quit is great. Getting hate mail is even better.

I played two nights ago for the first time in a long while. Had an A rank accusing me of being a high rank myself but playing on a low-grade alt account. Somewhat interesting.

Dragon’s Crown still has a hold of me, though.

Bryan’s weird to me.

Like, on paper you’d think he was pretty bad. But in practice, while a lot of what he does is fairly unsafe, his limbs seem like they reach half the screen, it feels like he has blockstun that lasts longer than the last hour of a workday, and when he does confirm something it freaking hurts. He has a very… risky playstyle, but if you like that sort of thing, the benefits seem to outweigh the risk.

This is all from second hand observation and playing against a few really good Bryan mains though, including FlyingVe and Don Wulong. So I might be wrong.

I hate trying to get him to stick out something for me to whiff punish. I almost always end up having a Mach Breaker breakfast full of Cyborg nutrition. :-\

If they start neutral jumping you, bait it; I’m almost 75% positive that Fisherman will do the job for punishing. :3 I’ll be the first to admit I’m not afraid to neutral jump if I feel I have a read, mainly because Juri’s nj.HK is kinda’ ridiculous. However as soon as I eat a punishing juggle for it from the likes of Bryan, the ā€œupā€ on my arcade stick mysteriously stops working.

I can’t explain it.

MrKarmageddon mains Zangief/Bryan and his Bryan is also very good. Always scared to play against Bryan because of what Roknin just said up there.

EH news : ā€œNuckleDu: Street Fighter X Tekken isn’t casual friendly, it’s hard to play and technical - it’s boring to watch, but fun to playā€

Comment n.13, EH is so free to Thancruz mode hahahaha.

Eventhubs comment section has become so hard to read I’m this close to banning myself from it. The ignorance, bandwaggon rides, and typical online stupidity is a complete turn off.

We call it EventScrubs for a reason.

Is it me, or do some of the memes no longer work (random number.jpg)? Better save them on hard drive then, they’ll always come in handy to fend off the trolls!

Against neutral jumps Bryan will want to use cHP>CADC. Fisherman has alot if strange dead spots that have gotten me killed alot.

Patience can hurt Bryan badly. He has a few okay mixups, but there are lots of holes in all his stuff, and unlike Chun or Ryu, he can exactly force action.

Also, he’s a bitch to find a partner for.

How so? I doubt it’s because of synergy, since snake pit is pretty damn good and gatling combination has some mixup potential if tag canceled.

Mixup potential isn’t that good off snake or Gatling.

And I haven’t found a character that can actually add damage to his BnB significantly more than using an EX move.

His big move you’ll want to TC is AA fisherman.

Reading that Eventscrubs article…stay free eventscrubs, stay free.

[details=Spoiler]NOT CASUAL?

Uhhhh SUPER EASY, EASY GEMS? Hello?

Did he even LOOK at the customize screens or just go straight into training writing about hitboxes and frame traps

What options? Dash canceling normals? Because besides that it’s grounded footsies. Jumping isn’t worth the risk.

I think the boring part of watching comes from seeing players just block each others safe strings over & over.

Anybody would know my a$$. I’ve played Sfxt for a about a year since launch day and I believe this game is child’s play compared to sf4. My main team is Julia x Bob.

Street Fighter X Tekken isn’t casual friendly, it’s dead. /thread!

I disagree. This is casual and boring to watch.

what technical play?
it has no setups no resets no reads…
its all about ā€˜ā€˜whoever hits lp first, do the damage then run away till time over’’

How dare you compare SFxTK to 3S -_-

Games bad people dont like it whats the problem? If it wasnt a capcom game it would have made it this long so why hate when people call out a mediocre game

At least there’s a decent amount of intelligent comments this time around. I’d say only level 1 Cruz-factor at the moment.

It isn’t super hard to find a partner combowise: all you are looking for is someone who can do big damage off Snake Pits (most of the cast), perhaps can combo off Gatling Combination and/or force a good mixup off the reset, and allows Bryan to come in with j.HP, Fisherman.

The difficulty is in covering up for Bryan’s weaknesses because he plays a very specific game. You’ll need someone with pressure and can open people up rather safely, but they have to have strong footsies themselves because smart players can mitigate a lot of Bryan’s play at neutral as has been said.

I’m pairing him with King, Heihachi, and Lei atm, mostly for fun, but I’d be lying if I said any had high level weakness covering except maybe Heihachi.
They do have synergy in combining strengths, however, which I think is sometimes overlooked.

Just played about 10 online ranked games and I’d say a good half of them came up with: ā€˜the battle has been cancelled’ messages. Is this just people rage-quitting or simple disconnects? I’m only saying this because it tended to happen after winning the first round or so in my experience.

You get the same or better damage, plus great positioning and a raw tag if you just use EX snake instead.

I mean, my usual partner is raven, and the snake combo is:

Snake, TC, sHP, wind cross, cHP, CADC, sHP, HK ego.

And that barely increases the damage.

Bryan is also a meter whore, so the first character must battery.
