Whoever said Hugo is bad…they are lying, I knew he was sick, the way you was going nuts with him I was like “Hugo is what tier now? :S” you was playing him like he didn’t get nerfed at all

“Hugo sucks” people usually fall into a set number of camps:
Camp 1 used Hugo pre-patch but because of some of the nerfs it changed things they loved about the character. This is fair, as only they can really determine how much they enjoy playing said character… but I challenge them to try him post-patch.
Camp 2 was afflicted by Herp Splash Fever. This is also synonymous with Light Kick Syndrome and Jab Jab Disorder. They’re sick, sick people, and the v2013 patch “cured” them… much to their dismay. So they go and complain to camp 3…
Camp 3 never played the character and heard he was bad through word of mouth (usually from camp 2 people) and spread the word. And like a virus, everyone caught “Hugo Sucks”.
Now of course, there is a contingency of people that just… never cared about the character. Truth be told, I fell into Camp 3 myself until I got wax, tax n dre’d by the few good ones left. Then I realized…

Actually, his normals all have significantly more hitstun than most characters. It is actually possible (though very difficult) to confirm his sHP into launch.
IMO there are way too many characters in this game to check out character forums, and there’s no way to tell when something new is posted in them as far as I know.
And, people generally discuss characters in this and the balance thread anyways, so character threads are more of a nuisance at this point.
Doesn’t mean people aren’t playing the game or discovering stuff.
Giant palm breaker into super is amazing too. Unscaled destruction.
If I didn’t have trouble with meter management, I would try counter hit setups with leap attack. That reminds me that I dodged a spiral arrow which would have chipped me out with leap attack. Still lost the match though.
Definitely going to drop the movement speed gems and see how I do with more meter gems.
You can bookmark threads and get notifications when there are new posts. It’s something at least.

I just remembered @Rc_On you are right about DLC meter gems…I was facing this A ranked Hei/Dud player and the way the person was building meter was stupid, did one MGB into a million hit combo that took about a thousand years! I don’t really call for coughs “adjustments” but that does seriously needs sorting out imho. I will try to keep my head up and deal with it regardless

That guy… I don’t understand why he does these stupid long ass combos. Maximum damage scaling? Screw that I will spend another bar for the lulz. Funny thing is he will only play smart when the timer is working against him. +20 hit combo and when you are about to fall asleep BAM hammer punch reset.
After a palm it will work 99.99% of the time.
If it is far enough that you doubt it, you can do sLP>Launch.

If only he did a reset once in a while, he’d do us all a favor: less time and meter wasted + faster KO. Looks like he’ll be the best in pulling off KI’s ultra combo’s!

@Cody&Guy18 exactly, he might as well be playing K.I…though, if we played that I would have combo broke him every single time, he will be way too caught up with excessive styling he wouldn’t bother baiting the combo breaker.

I already found a gem setup which gives me tons of meter and a 50% damage boost for Hugo and if I slap another super art gem on him… Yeah go figure. I’m not using that online yet as I want to learn how to play Ken and Hugo without effortless meterbuild.
I’m gonna wait for the final product until I say anything about it. Still wanna see Orchid, Cinder, Fulgore and Spinal.
WHAATT! Idk, maybe I’m just over excited, looks awesome to me. I wanna body everyone with Jago! I don’t understand everyone’s obsession over not having like 86 characters to play. They realize that they have to learn how to fight against all 86 of them right? Hell, I’d be fine with 6 as long as I could play Jago.
Also guys, Splinter Cell Blacklist is the worst splinter cell game I’ve ever played. The first match I was in, I got glitched into the rail. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME! DO NOT SUPPORT UBISOFT! THEY MAKE TERRIBLE GAMES!!
I get between 450 and 800 off a 5C hit. The other good one is I get 680 off an EX lariat hit.
Basically, if I land a clean hit on a grounded opponent, Hugo wins.
Unfortunately, that can be easier said than done.
