It doesn’t look like SFxT pools are going to be streamed at TFC. Art posted a vid on his YouTube channel showing the stream schedule.

Not even surprised, but it is a damn shame. Pools are where a lot of the interesting matches happen.
Hopefully someone is there recording matches or pools are being recorded in general. That would be dope.
The funny thing is when I hear people say the FGC is the greatest gaming community in the world I start to laugh(a sad laugh), because a community wouldn’t want to kill games and drive away players but our so called community sure does. Unless it’s “Mahvel Baby” people can careless. I believe this is one of the main reason why FGC won’t blowup and get esports-like money with this attitude and the whole collusion thing doesn’t help either.
I blame marvel.

People are tired of seeing the same plays from the same players.

They never stream the pools where the other players are. Only the finals. AFTER the top players already weeded out everyone else.
What’s the point in whining then?
Eh, it sucks that SFxT is getting the shaft, but at least it’s still getting ran. I stopped being in the FPS community after they stopped running events with Quake, Unreal and CStrike in them and had nothing but Halo followed by nothing but Call of Duty. Bringing a joypad to a mouse/keyboard fight… pathetic.
Marvel will slowly collapse on itself, especially if they keep up with the whole ‘staging’ and ‘collusion’ bullshit. And I’m serious about that, that shit would kill anything. If the players can’t take the game seriously anymore, how the hell can spectators? If spectators can’t take it seriously, they’ll stop watching. If spectators stop watching, it’ll stop getting streamed.
Let’s just do our best to keep the scene alive.
I hope MGO gets a shot in the shooter scene. That’s the only shooter I would ever get seriously involved in. I am curious though…is the whole “mahvel” thing one big joke? Or do people genuinely like it?
That’s what happens when people hivemind instead of thinking for themselves. Most people who bash SFxT do it because it’s the popular thing to do, as opposed to having legitimate reasons for not liking it. Honestly though, this happens with a ton of other games too. If it’s not the ‘flavor of the month’ people automatically look down on the game instead of accepting it as-is.
There’s a few people who do genuinely love Marvel. I have no beef with these people for liking a game, even if I hate it. As long as you love it and that’s all you want out of it, is just to play a game you love, that’s fine. That’s good.
The problem is I notice a lot of people play Marvel because:
-Money. More people enter Marvel than most other games in most scenes, therefore winning Marvel gives you the biggest bonus.
-Fame. Marvel gets stream time.
-Availability. People play Marvel because people play Marvel.
-Stockholm Syndrome. Even though they hate the game and constantly talk shit about it for all it’s faults both real and imagined… they’ve put so much time into Marvel and those learned skills are not going to translate to any other game. You’re held hostage by your inability to ever grasp the game and your inability to just let all the blood, sweat and salt go to waste.
I mean, if people could ever see past these things and just play the games they want to play… then the game they want to play would get the money. The game they want to play would get the stream time. The game they want to play would have people playing it.
Again, nothing against the people who play Marvel and love it. But we ALL know that there’s probably more people out there who do nothing but bitch about Marvel but continue playing it for one of the above reasons.
