Most of the new costumes are ass.
Best costumes: Raven, Kuma (best idea), Jack X, Cody, Christie, Lili, Rolento (epic troll), Ken and Bison.
Worst costumes: Sakura (why???), Paul, Jin, Dhalsim, Steve (lol) and Hwoarang.
My favorites: Kuma and Raven.
Yoshimitsu is a very unusual character. Because he’s not a footsie character or a zoner but still controls space. And he’s also not a typical tekken character either (like the damage assist type). He’s basically an “assist to assist”. He helps the damage/mixup/grappler character (those with bad neutral/footsies but very strong close up game) to get in and do their thing. Then ideally tag back to Yoshi for the okizeme, hit and run or keepaway.
Julia is a strong mid-range character that’s usually used as a SF character to fish for cross-rush and get the damage or oki character in. Yoshi has good okizeme but not great damage so imo Julia works best with a powerhouse. However, Julia does have good damage, some decent resets and oki as well so using Yoshi to get Julia in is still good. But the question is, does Julia really need Yoshi’s help to get in? I would say no. Since she already has a strong mid-range, she can start her offense just fine.
A character like Asuka is the ideal partner for Yoshimitsu because she hits like a truck and has really good mixups, resets and pressure but can struggle to get in on strong footsie characters. The only “problem” with that team is that some players say Asuka needs a lot of meter. But I wouldn’t know about that cuz when I was playing Asuka I was never spending anything with her, I was basically using her as a battery.
If I didn’t have a pandora meter gem on, I wouldn’t be able to hit people for lolololdamage when they do something stupid.
I like mashing.

Seriously mashing is legit as long as you don’t get predictable like a dumbass doing it.
I don’t encourage mashing but I don’t condone it. Even Daigo mashes. 
P.S. How do you mash EX P.Crusher? lol If you can mash a charge move you deserve to be admired.

No it doesn’t I thought that was well known. Maybe that could be one of Pandora’s much needed buffs? Unlimited meter usage like…Cross Assault

Okay, so, just putting this out there, but I absolutely love the Julia alt, the Law alt, and the Cammy alt. I’m actually kinda’ lukewarm on the Juri alt now, but it’s still good.
Not a fan of the Jack-X alt, though I do think it’s kinda’ funny. Just looks to weird. Same for the Kuma alt. Most of the others are fine.
Tempted to play Rolento just because of that janitor alt.

The Law Alternate is the best! He looks just like Guan Yu from Dynasty Warriors.
Raven, [S]Lars[/S] Lei, Akuma and King all came out on top on this new round of costumes IMO. most of the SF Cast costumes is ass… not sure i’d pay for it if it wasnt free. Still not sure if i’ma get them on 360. Gonna pan out and see how often i use them
Saying my opinion doesn’t matter will not make the costumes any less lame.
EDIT: That Bison alternate is pretty cool too. But yea, fuck you and the rest of the costumes. lol
