SFxT General Discussion #3 - Still Alive

NUUUUH UUUUHH HWOARANG/JURI 4LYYYYFEE

GGs to Bunnycap and Shadow_Setuna. That last jump forward on Lili and the repeated failed Ryu jump-ins were input errors on my pad, I swear!

Man I wish I could there to put Will08 in his place…alas I’m stuck here at home wishing I could’ve gone.

Top 10 for me is Cody, Kazuya, Hwoarang, Julia, Jack, Jin, Lili, Chun, Gief, and 10th goes to either Nina/Dhalsim. (No order)

Bottom 10 for me is Paul, Kuma, Balrog, Yoshi, Blanka, Marduk, Elena, Abel and Asuka :frowning:

yes, proving someone wrong, who in return resorts to insults, is the very definition of “butt hurt”.

Watching Ricky Ortiz getting bodied by Gamerbee’s Jack was just painful to watch. It was fairly obvious Ricky had zero matchup experience because he kept doing quickstand into backdash, kept trying to jump or do something between the 2 hits of seismo and kept mashing buttons up close even though it was pretty obvious Gamerbee was going to DP xx tag through his strings.

To everyone having problems vs Jack-X, here’s some simple anti-Jack technology: DELAY YOUR QUICKSTAND. If you delay your quickstand by a few frames, Jack’s seismo will whiff completely and you’ll get a full combo punish on him every time. Try it.

Another tip: Use anti-projectile moves to deal with his DP. e.g. Christie has EX Handstand that is projectile invincible. This move is kinda useless vs most projectiles but in the Jack matchup it becomes a super valuable tool to have.

Universal Anti-Jack Technology: Raw Launcher (Oh damn, yes it’s that again!)

Jack is pretty damn vulnerable, top 5… come on now, he is good but not THAT good.
It’s just he isn’t been exposed to good players yet.

Naw Jack X is a solid zoning character his normals are good, he has that hardrive move with super armor, a dp with 3 different ranges that is EASY to combo into and 2 of the 3 dps are safe on block, seismo setups can actually be combo-ed out of, do good chip and HAVE to be blocked, (for example Juris teleport counter doesnt work against it)

<___< welp, didnt mean to start drama when I asked about tiers lol. Just wanted to know where Vega, Asuka, Alisa and Poison stand in the rankings. Vega is pretty high it seems while the others are mid (and Asuka is ass).

Asuka is godlike! I HATE YOU ALL D:

…T.T

Lol I wish, My main team is Vega/Asuka… she’s ass right now but I’m stoked for the buffs she’s getting in the 2013 update ^.^

Jack I good, but just to answer your claims:
Fastest normal is 6 frames and is not cancelable. Tackle with armor does not have armor from startup and is punishable on block. Dp with 3 different ranges? Hp dp reaches a little longer but has longer startup (around 12 frames) and no hit invulnerability on startup. Lp dp is safe on block and can be comboed after, but starts up in 8-10 frames and is throwable and no invuln. Mp dp also starts in 8-10 frames and is throwable and can combo in to super and seismo juggle. All dps are projectiles. You don’t have to block seismos, you can roll or do an invuln move.

I think Bunnycap can back me up when I say that punishing that thing on block isn’t easy, especially if he follows it up with a DP.

It is like -8 though

Probably on the last active frame its a bit safer.

Asuka is looking straight up irresponsble in 2013.

Plus, her sweep throw (which does 200 fricking damage now) will turn into a safe tag opportunity, because no one is going to be stupid enough to roll toward her on wakeup now.

Also, with Asuka with Pandora Gems will be the most broken thing ever.

That’s actually not true.

As a jack user, we have a force block setupfor quick stand, quick stand early get hit twice quick stand late, get hit once. Sadly your only options after a quick stand is to block. Just block it’s ok. YOU CAN’T JUMP AFTER A QUICK STAND. IT’S NOT FUCKING STREET FIGHTER

Finding a projectile invincible move helps but remember we want you to waste the meter on dp. Here is a basic overview (I’m making a jack tutorial soon explaining a lot of this)

  1. Do not dash, ever. Just walk forward and downback.

  2. Stay out of jack-Xs crouch jab. The max range of jacks cr.jab is his grey area where he canT throw out seismos for free. Cr.jab xsiesmo hits HIGH LOW LOW. If you block high, you have to block low.

  3. ALWAYS BLOCK COURCH JAB LOW. CROUCH JAB HITS HIGH AND LOW. don’t try to low crush it. You have to predict the low crush anyway you are better off just blocking, cr.jab x Siesmo is a true block string with no GAP

  4. Never jump… Ever…jack players look for that.

If you can follow those four things, you’ll be ok. There’s a lot more to it but that’s the basic jist.

Keep in mind if you’re a Kazuya player, you can basically do whatever you want.
