Wait…so Jin is supposedly going to be amazing in 2013?
Why is it that every character I’ve been trying so far ends up being amazing in this game? First Heihachi, then Cody, and now Jin…might as well pick up Gief and Lili to keep the trend going.
Honestly the top 5 did not change much I ave not read the full list yet.
I know people will still complain about jack. Even moreso because he got buffed
Lilis meta game did not change
Geif and King received a lot of buffs in damage however the NERF to boast combos is too significant to ignore. Geif arguably had the best of them too. I’ll read the rest later but Lili and jack did not move out of the top 10
Ryu is a normal character now, which I like.
Kuma may be better but I doubt he will gain new fans with the changes
IMO top 10 are
Gief
Cody
Chun Li
Rufus
Jack X
Lilli
Vega
Dhalism
Ryu
Hwoarang
But the 2013 update is probably gonna change that. If your wondering why i put hwoarang top 10, its because that flamingo option select is broken as shit
Jin is amazing NOW his crouching jab beats out everything, he has good footsies, a fireball, a command dash, DAMAGING combos, an AMAZING AA that crushes everything midair, a decent reversal that can lead to 500 damage on counter hit, the only reason i dont main him is cuz i can’t hit that special step consistently but Hwoarang/Jin is a VERY VERY strong team
Maybe I can run that team for you. I have a decent Hwoarang (in the sense that I can do a bit more than just chainsaw kick all day), and I can do special step combos pretty consistently with Jin.
I wish I had a PS3 so I could train against your Hwoarang…the best Hwoarang I fought so far on the PC version was this guy:

…and that isn’t exactly an example of great Hwoarang play.
Ryu (no weaknesses, insane normals)
Zangief (scary range and speed on his SPD, and his chains and jab’s work so good for mix-ups towards those SPD’s)
Jin (he has everything but a proper AA-normal… que 2013 :(, and also DAT mishima j,hk )
Kazuya (so much damage, and so much mic-up potential, DAT mishima j.hk)
Cody (best AA-normal in the game, his cr. lk and more very good normals)
But that’s also because I almost never encounter Lili’s and I’ve never got any problems dealing with Chun-li. Same with Rufus after his divekick nerf.
So this top-5 is my own opinion and based on online play.
My prediction for 2013:
Jin
Law (with an AA he’ll be a monster)
Jack-X (he’ll lose his really bad match-ups)
Lars
Heihachi
and as outsiders: King (that would be awesome), Guy (I fear his buffs a lot, hate dealing with proper Guy’s in SF4), Gief (he could still be very good, just not as good as he is now)
I’m telling you guys right now. I speak so highly of jack x because he is going to be broken. So I’m telling you now, study up on him or you will get rocked 100% of the time with Siesmo, DP, and hard drive .
I don’t know why more people jump on the jack wagon.
Playing footsies against Cody is like trying to pierce your ears with a hole puncher. I feel guilty for maining Cody in Super after dealing with Son_Goku_San’s Cody/Bob team.
LOL I just fought that guy about a half an hour ago, never got to see Bob unfortunately. Cody is annoying when he’s smart enough to bait out your raw launchers for free punishes.
I’m just not a fan of his playstyle. Keep-away just isn’t me. I like to go in and do flashy combos and totally dance all over my opponents. Jack doesn’t do that for me.
seem to be lacking a Lili. As i said before that match up is 6-4 atm and will become 7-3 because of the roll nerf. Once lili gets in on jack x he losses pretty much all of his options as a character. Lili was barely changed much and saw more buffs than nerf, especially in meter gain. Most of the sf cast got nerfed and those match ups were 5-5 with the exception of a few characters. I can’t say much for the guys up there because the patch hasn’t dropped so we can’t actually gauge until we start playing 2013.
