Tell me about it. Only character I play is Cody. After reading this, if I stick to Cody I’d be holding my partner back. With the buffs the Tekken characters got, you’d be an idiot NOT to pick up a Tekken character or four. Calling it now; Asuka, Lili, Xiaoyu, King, and Hwoarang will end up being top tier and thats all you’ll see online. I was looking forward to the ex zonk knuckle change as my style is centered around zonk anyways but after reading these buffs, I’d be a fool to play Cody. He doesn’t stand a chance as does most of the Street Fighter cast. Will most likely put the game down until there is another balance patch.
I was thinking about that change, and honestly- its okay. What other character gets 300 off an AA without meter? And if you do have meter… its even more.
She still has crouch mp which actually is safer and less space reliant. Sure, you get a silly 60 damage into a fireball, but it gets the job done. Her air to air priority is still very good if you can react. You can get some damage off of that too, but you will have to use meter when doing counter hit normal, low forward xx mid pinwheel x switch to your partner.
And we dont know how bad the nerf is. IT could still be possible. We have to wait and see.
Are you implying that Kuma is on the same level as Law, Jin and Heihachi? Thanks for the laugh
Ogres dash is two frames faster and c.MP is now cancellable? Muahahahahaha >:)
see he gets it. Just put down all resistance and just join us…JOINS US!
Raven losing the ability to jump back and throw shurikens is so gay. I understand you guys wanna nerf the lame stuff but damn that shit is mad stupid. One of the things that made him unique is gone. Well at least I have some nice frama data buffs that I think…are meh. This character definitely will feel different post patch.
bad thing about it they also nerf the hitbox also. they could have just that and it would have been enough but they did more then was needed. That why i hate capcom balancing sometimes.
This is so depressing…I think the whole hitbox reducing was just fucking gay.
Lili and Asuka, Hwoarang, fanboys! Enjoy your game. I’ll be playing SFxT but I am in no way maining this game. A good game is a game that makes all styles of gameplay viable not just a few. I guess AE is still gonna be alive after this huh? I doubt this game is gonna kill SFIV, right?
Are you kidding me? Kuma is extremely strong right now and after this patch he will be godlike especially after all those nerfs to half of the cast. There is a reason why Sethlolol has dominated the tournament scene with his team (Law/Kuma) besides the fact that he is a good player. Most of the cast can’t do anything to Kuma as he is now since his hurtbox makes footsies completely in his favor against many characters. Not to mention his very strong mixup game and high damage output. Jumping in was his only semi weakness but now thats gone too with his amazing new AA.
I know how to play against Kuma and I know that he is very strong currently. If they fixed that hurtbox issue and left everything else the same I think he would have been fair, but they just had to give him those strong buffs and from the looks of it they didn’t address the hurtbox issue at all.
Well online tony will still be raping with Raven regardless…
And Bears should be top tier obviously… If it were real life the whole cast would be bear food lol!
damn i forgot how the online feels so good in this game. makes me feel like i am in control and i block almost everything. no more slide moves from across screen hitting me in this netcode. I be playing rolento/hugo or rolento/whoever if you guys see me on live.
You are overreacting, he still is perfectly viable, just not braindead derpy derp.
And I will body you too.
The hurtbox being so far back in hunting stance is very nice for footsies, no doubt. But once you know that and can play around it a bit more, it gets messier, I think. Kuma still can’t block, so projectiles have a bit of advantage, especially since exiting Hunting Stance is going to be 5f now and the invincibility on Bear’n is going to be much shorter. Additionally, outside of Hunting Stance, Kuma still lacks the good pokes like most everyone else, for varying reasons. So keeping the pressure on him, so that it’s harder to go into Hunting and watching everything else he does is going to be very effective. There are some holes in other places that weren’t being exploited either so.
With the style people play currently, I think you’re right. Kuma is pretty buff. But I don’t think he has all the tools to play that front character as solidly as others should people adapt and move away from that particular style. He’ll still have problems which is perfectly fine because his good points to balance it. I may be wrong but I think Kuma’s problems in adapting should players get out of the footsie mentality may be why Sethlolol starts Law in front instead. I play the same team he does but usually have Kuma on point so I can understand why he uses Law first and capitalizes with Paw.
Oh god brb can’t stop laughing
You misunderstand the entirety of the hurtbox problem. It’s not just that the hurtbox is deceptive, but when you land a hit the hurtbox shifts very far away forcing your second attack to whiff. Furthermore his hitbox off of hunting stance is very strong so he can counter poke you all day without you being able to do anything if you have no projectile. The shortened armor frames on breakn is not really important and the amount of armor is still huge.
Also you said that Kuma lacks the good pokes like most everyone else when he is outside of hunting stance. That statement is untrue. His standing pokes have the hitbox waaay out in front of his hurtbox so trying to outfootsie him is extremely difficult. His st lk is godlike because it even moves his hurtbox really far back and after nerfing Ibuki’s st lk, Kuma is now the only one to have it.
Also you are wrong in your reasoning as to why Seth starts out with Law first. Its not that Kuma’s adapting are insufficient, its that Law is better for starting an offense forcing you to try to take away the life lead that Law gives Kuma while at the same time easily forcing you into Kuma’s strong mixup game.

can’t sleep. thinking about 2013 and sets in my mind. I can do this and then that and then style and then laugh and then style some more and then omfg T.T someone halp.
Kuma doesn’t need to block in stance since he can do a lot of things to get around people’s approach. Against most projectiles, he could always crouch under and with the right position he could just punish you for a bad projectile. His footsies outside of stance isn’t bad as well. He can interrupt a lot of characters normal with lk or lp with a buffered launcher. May not be the best footsies, but it’s still there @_@. I honestly think his only true weakness is just cross ups. Break n roll works fine, but that’s a random shot. It’d be nice to have a jump attack with a five frame start up to at least throw out there and not get punished.
I put Kuma in the back mainly because I feel he’s a better anchor than Law. If I were to start Kuma and lose, I don’t feel confident in Law making a comeback. Kuma, on the other hand, can easily make comebacks from the meter gained from Law taking damage. Also, combos from Law to Kuma are much more rewarding than Kuma into Law. Not only that, but Kuma’s best ability is the oki game. I don’t think there’s another character that does it better than Kuma.
I’m actually surprised with Kuma and Law being buffed. I always thought they were fine as they were and with a lot of the cast moving down they might be top tier.
