SFV Lounge: SRK Cross Tag Battle

Some would definitely mean more than CA

The more I see Falke trailer the more I’m happy with Zeku. Real.

been watching flake trailer multiple times to examine her gameplay and I think she’s a zoning hybrid type character, but this depends on how good her projectiles are.

No, it’s the other way around. They say that some inputs only need to button presses, so technically only one other move would need to be a motion for that sentence to be correct.

Basically from how I’m reading this

Like Ed, some of Falke’s special moves only require either two punch or two kick buttons – no special inputs required. Pressing two punches will result in Psycho Schneide, which is her version of an uppercut. Pressing two kicks is Katapult, which sees Falke pole vaulting towards the opponent in a kick motion.

That to me essentially states that she has 2 special moves that will be 2 button/TAP press and the rest of her specials will be motion. Im like 90 percent confident that’s what it is.

They dont mention any piano or true TAP hold button specials so the rest should be motion.

Well I sure hope so, I find Ed incredibly dull to play.

Yeah she’s still going to mostly be a motion character minus those couple moves. She just borrows from Ed likely due to relation to the character and to give a little nod to those newer players that may have liked it. You’ll at least get some old SF motions with her.

Why then would they not show all her specials in the blogpost. I personally don’t think she’ll have motion specials, hope i’m wrong but otherwise she’ll have these specials:

  • Psycho Kugel/Feder/Kanonen(Air, standing and crouching verions)
  • Psycho Schneide(Uppercut, P+P)
  • Psycho Katapult(Lunging special, K+K)

So she has basically 3 specials + Vskill.

What irks me about these type of inputs(pressing 2 buttons) is how capcom does it. The special doesn’t change depending on WHICH buttons you press. If you press LP+MP, LP+HP, MP+HP, they are all the same. wheras whereas with motion inputs it does change. Ed his versions are all the same no matter the button combination, such a missed change however it makes it less beginner friendly, especially for people with no arcad sticks.

So i return to the question that i posed when Ed released, who exactly are they trying to appeal to with Ed and Falke? The time to bring in new people has passed when the release came, we are now in S3 but even during S2 everyone who played SFV were already used to motion and charge inputs, what was the point to try and appeal to a ā€œcasualā€ audience. These inputs actually limit the amount specials one can do especially if you are NOT changing specials based on the button combinations used. Using negative edge is also NOT beginner friendly, again who are they trying to appeal to? The actual players prefer motion and charge inputs and a big toolkit.

It’s so backwards.

Welp, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MEEEEE (in Japan)~!

screw Bison’s birthday.

Ready to see if Falke is worthy of Birdie’s spot as my main.

If you ask me Capcom tried to impress the crowd with Ed, they were still on the ā€˜showing new fancy things never seen before’ train. Think about it, after people complained a little about how easy use the characters Capcom released Menat and Zeku who aren’t. They tried a new way to make appear the characters ā€˜fresh’, even if with Ed they’ve failed honestly. Now they give to Falke the same (or almost) the same configuration to relate her more with Ed, that was expected to a certain degree. Personally I’ve spend over 20 yrs doing charge/motion moves and I love keep doing that, but if new generations enjoys this new style, good for them. To me it’s still a no go.

They never show all the moves in the blog post. You have to get that from the moves list. You are right that they probably could have fit the only 3rd special move she probably has in there, but that’s how they do it. It’s just for a snippet of her gameplay.

Even when there are variations of specials unless it entirely changes the trajectory of a move there’s usually a go to version of it any way. She seems varied enough in what she can do so far that I’m looking forward to see more. The tap inputs I know help some people as there are people that think hadokens are hard and Smash is built entirely around that shit.

For me personally I like having specials you can instantly bust out like Gief lariat no matter what side they are on. Which since it’s Falke you still get some motion moves. She’s one of only 2 characters with a list of these commands so I find it nice and varied and not full intrusive like Smash or anything.

My interest dropped completely after learning she had Ed inputs.

Also, I learned that I’m assssssssss at chess. I’m about 0-30 vs this lvl2 (out of 10) CPU

the most underwhelming SF character trailer since decRAPre

YAWWWWWWN! The only good thing about Falke release is we are now a little bit closer to Sagat

You misspelled Cody

Going by this thread it sounds like very few mirror matches on the 24th. I approve.

I’m sure I’ll be in a battle lounge mirror match but yeah I don’t see many mirror matches other than a week of casuals unless she is like on some Urien or Guile shit at launch

Her theme is so beautiful, I think I’m going to cry.
