Tornado Sweep fireball looking even better than I thought. Even the regular version (I’m assuming heavy is being thrown) seems pretty strong. Like once the fireball comes out of his hand it takes up about 2 character lengths worth of space. If that’s truly safe from that range he basically has a projectile poke that he can just chuck at people when he wants to keep space. The others ones being slower help him control neutral further, then can use the EX like Sakura or Chun Li to follow behind and start pressure.
His sweep looks stronk. Max range a lot of characters not punishing that with anything scary. Add it with pipe cancels and it’s OD.
EX Zonk at least looks like it spaces him out a bit despite being plus 3 so you aren’t going to take a grab mix up everytime you block it. Just that with it being plus 3 you can certain be forced to have to block pretty much any light or medium button he wants to throw after. Which can lead to walk up throw later on and then come full circle and mix up with counter hits on the throw tech and backdash attempts.
Cody is looking good and all, but honestly I can’t stand his st.lk, seems they’ve swapped the light with the medium. The range is crazy. I don’t understand if the double kick works like Gief Lariat and there’s a blind spot on it, the white damage + the CC state will be enough to stop going ham with. EX Zonk is the new EX Chariot Tackle, seems slower, but +oB. Coupled with VT activation will be scary, with VT2 there’s also the command grab to add to his options. No doubt Cody got more attentions by Capcom than the previous 3 characters, can’t wait to check his frame data.
That’s not a bad trade at all for everything it does. The recovery on whiff is way too short for something that can be CC’d and drains maybe 5 percent of your white health, so unless you get it blocked it’s not going to take a CC everytime you whiff it. On top of that you only need to whiff 6 (unless it gets nerfed before launch) to build a bar of V gauge. On a character that has a solid fireball and good buttons for neutral. You can recover the white health you “lose” from throwing out 2 or 3 V Skills in seconds with his neutral.
Easily one of the best V Skills in the game with the positives.
In that video versus Rashid, it looks like Cody can take more damage than the opponent with his vskill thanks to guts scaling. Not really a fan of that.

I noticed that 4 fighting games this year have or will come out with Gold/Plat/Shiny color sets.

SFV:AE had a Gold outfits to match the AE theme
FLEX Will have Gold Plat outfits on sale when the game launches
SC6 has Gold/Plat outfits in the Season Pass
Fought Dieminion’s Ed yesterday. He really utilizes that character well. Most Ed’s switched to V-Trigger 2, but he stuck with 1. Really enjoyed playing him. Still learning a lot.
