Cody looks like he can be annoying at mid-range. I don’t know how far that will get him in SFV. I’ve only seen Cody vs Cody so far though.

if capcom had kept the exact normals cody had in SF4 he probably would be stronger, Crack kick plus the corpse hop and his slide wouldve been good additions to what he has now for this game. i really dont like that hes not an Opener/frametrap monster…le sigh

Bad spray is still there, safe on block and it sounds like you can combo if if CH. No one mentioned a reversal, just that his V-Skill is invincible on frame 3, throw invulnerable from 1.
Looking at SFV Cody just makes me miss SF4’s frametraps

From the WSO stream, they said that bad spray is done by holding up while inputting a normal recovery. They said it could be meatied, so It sounds like if it does have invincible frames, it’s not enough to cover startup.
I hate to say it but they fucked up Cody, in SF4 Cody was ASS against high pressure characters and so-so against fireball characters his bingo was his only reliable move to deal with fireballs but they took away the fireball invincibility in this game and he has NO reversals AND his ex ruffian slide doesn’t go through fireballs. So now he’s gonna be mauled by the majority of the cast just like the good ol sf4 day GG Capcom.
They said EX zonk has no invincibility? And no 3 frame normal. We’re definitely missing something. Not gonna make any judgement until I get my hands on him and have the frame data.

LK ruffian seems to be the best combo ender, gives you Cammy spiral arrow tier oki and easy time covering both wake-ups, easy meaty throws and basically auto-timed cr.mp
Packz used this set-up in the corner, unsure if it was a true safe jump -
st.mk > st.hp xx EX.ruffian > HK.ruffian > neutral jump > lk x mk air target combo as a safejump meaty
Some things I noticed that may or may not be important -
st.mk > st.hp looks like it only works when close, whiffs from far and will need to use st.mp instead.
I believe V-Skill went through some of Akuma’s super, so it may have some form of projectile invincibility, didn’t clip it.
st.hp xx zonk actually frame traps on block, and on counter-hit Zonk is at least +4 so you get a jab combo from it. I thought that was neat. Zonk is -1 on block, so using this every now and again could be a good idea, quite like Sakura LK.tatsu frame traps.
Cody got the juri treatment as in he was changed for the sake of trying to pass him off as a brand new character with a fresh SFV start when in reality take away all the fun and interesting stuff while making him BAD
