SFV Lounge: SRK Cross Tag Battle

Marvel is shit to watch too were it not for the fact that I was watching epic Marvel villains duke it out.

The action is messy and hard to follow, especially for the laymen. SFV got it right.

I have a similar reaction to DBFZ too and I’m surprised. I used to love watching Marvel matches, but I think its equal parts me sort of drifting away from that style of game and the flow of DBFZ not appealing to me.

Very cool game just not my streaming game of choice. Also doesn’t hurt that we are mad spoiled for choice nowadays when it comes to competitive FG content. At any given event now you’re almost guaranteed to have Tekken 7, SFV, Rev 2, and DBFZ minimum. Good times.

White folk.

For me the combos with DBFZ aren’t even a problem. Coming from someone who’s always been a Marvel/VS game fan, the problem with DBFZ is the neutral and gameplay is just a very stale version of the vs series with no much differentiation between characters.

If you’re a Marvel fan you know that the way Magneto moves is different from Haggar and from Dorm and Dante and Morrigan and that plays a big part in how they become different characters on the screen. In DBFZ I just never get a sense that I’m seeing anyone move any differently from any of the other characters. There’s no Haggar trying to get in on Magneto or Zero using command dashes and lightnings to get through into Hawkeye or Morrigan, or Spiderman stalling with webs in the air to lame out Wolverine or Rocket Raccoon. Every character in DBFZ is a form of a 2 way air dash character with homing mechanics. I already hate that a lot about anime games where everyone’s movement is generically put into a forward or back air dash and then you give them other generic movements.

Then add in the fact that Vegeta is the only neutral assist thats viable for winning big tournaments in the meta and the game just gets stale for someone who started with Marvel. Especially with only one assist per character to not even have much differentiation if the assists were actually good. It just takes everything about the vs games and makes it very generic. Visually its a nice looking game, but gameplay wise there’s too much of the same shit going on in the neutral and nothing to be surprised by if you’re already a vs veteran. Even the zoning is boring because it only lasts until someone gets hit and then confirms into a vanish for the same shit you saw before the zoning.

I only watch it for Sonicfox vs GO1 rivalary and don’t really ever play it. Just nothing to do in it that really interests me.

I always enjoyed to watch Marvel 3 too. I might even buy it on steam during a sale just out of curiosity. 3vs3 is just not my thing, hence I am not into DBFZ either.

I still watch SFV, but mostly for the players rather than the game itself.

Eh I enjoy playing both SFV and DBFZ but I don’t really like to watch them apart for things like Go1 vs Fox. At the same time I really enjoy watching Xrd and Skullgirls, dunno why

it got streamed on two additional platforms which explains the rise in the viewership.
twitch numbers would be interesting.

"The Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition action at this year’s event was streamed across three platforms: Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook, which is likely what is being accounted for in the infographic below. "

WHOA BEAM SPAMx60 HAHAHAHA WOAH CELL JUST YELLED WHOA GOKU GREEN KILLED GOKU BROWN WHOA SONIC FOX WON

DBFZ is boring outside of the moments that supers all over the screen. Then again I don’t even like team games outside of the nostalgia of the old VS games so meh.

I wish there was beamspam that means zoning would be stronger.

but dbz is kewl it has Nappa I don’t think sfv has Nappa yet.

DBFZ needs Abigail.

This sounds like something a shill would say. I know you have more subs because of DBFZ.

While I am overjoyed with DBFZ success, I find it extremely boring to watch because

  1. DBZ, which is boring by itself
  2. Everyone seems to play the same.

So far, I only bothered to watch those GO1 vs Sonic Fox matches because of all the story and drama between them.
They need to find a way to make their game to look more diversified.

If I can’t destroy max I guess I will have to be content in becoming him and making a thousand dollars a day.

It will be rough but I will figure a way to survive it.

dont worry, base goku and base vegeta are on the way :honeybee:

Just how many Gokus the game needs?

Literally this. When the leak came out about the future DLC and they added base form Goku and base form Vegat I nopped out. Not touching DBFZ with that shit cast.

I can understand a Marvel player complaining about diversity in DBFZ, but a SFV player? For real?

Are we talking roster or gameplay because having three versions of Goku and Vegeta is utterly ridiculous. I hated having Evil Ryu, Ryu, Akuma, and Oni in SFIV. That was on a roster of 44 fighters. DBFZ is a 3 v 3 game based on a universe with hundreds of possible fighters. If the rumors are to be believed, we have 6 slots taken up by Goku and Vegeta. That’s not including lookalikes characters such as Bardock and Black. The roster of DBFZ isn’t even 30 fighters.
