But posting is tough and takes time and stuff. :frowning:

We just need to do a better job of mobilizing Trife. That’ll close the gap quickly.

Also, yesterday I noticed something funny. Whenever I’d load back into Training mode between matches, my league badge and rank # didn’t change, even though I was going up and down between every match. I’m assuming that means they pulled off the “quick load” using some sort of memory fuckery.

Doesn’t matter for actual game purposes so far as I can tell, I just thought it was interesting.

I triple posted for no reason, spare my soul pls

come join us. It’s the superior platform

Never had problems fighting Akumas 'til SFV, good Lord. Sometimes it seems he’s playing a different game or maybe I don’t use a character able to fight him back this time.

Akuma seems pretty fair to me in this game. Not sure why people have problems with him. This is probably the most fair Akuma in a SF other than maybe A2.

Dunno, but I feel the opposite, something of him even visually felt awkward to me. The strange thing is I had more success vs better versions of him, in SFV I’ve always the feeling Akuma can turn the tide whenever he wants and that blocks me from delivering the dagger on him. I need to overcome this even because I’ve faced Akuma more than any character in SFV. I have to lab more on him and also try to calm down myself when he goes full berserk with VT1.

He’s just not as mobile as like 3S or SFIV Akumas who were known for being oppressive on offense and if you tried to get near them they can always back air special away. Akuma has to confront you more often now (although he has a lot of ways to do it) so that makes it a lot easier for me. An Akuma that has to go in to win is the Akuma I like to fight. Especially playing Ibuki because he cant take more than 2 mix ups before its nearly over. I’ll block/slide/ex kunai over fireballs. Not worried by the zoning and air fireball Ibuki has too many ways to disrespect.

DP VTC is cool, but he only gets that once and mostly only take meaty mix ups after the HKD. If you read and block the DP VTC he’s punishable minus any way.

Finally fought my first Falke in ranked. He’s an Abi main and sides a couple other characters but decided to throw her in there.

Basically vs Ibuki its kinda like a more annoying version of fighting Juri where there’s a large range where you cant press any buttons. Except that range is even larger and the lights are all plus 2 or 3 on block and push you out. Basically unless you get inside of her c.LP range there’s no way to approach her safely other than EX kunai. Which EX kunai can get blown up on reaction with EX PP or neutral jump MP. It’s also easy to just randomly walk into her EX PP because of the large range and if you you get hit by it it pushes you back pretty far.

He didn’t do any fireballs so I’m sure the matchup would have been even more annoying if he had fireball charge game down. At least with Menat once you’re in you’re in and just have to use traps that are good vs 3 frames. VS Falke bad read in your pressure and she is EX PP out of there unless you bait super well. Then when you sit waiting for EX PP she just pushes you out with plus on block lights. So it’s like dealing with Ed and Sim at the same time defensively. The pushback on her lights basically means all she needs to do is make you block plus lights and she literally sweeps you out of your pressure game. Dont bother pressing anything against the lights either cuz they’re plus. Just get pushed out.

Seems like slight advantage for Ibuki considering her pressure and reward if she gets in, but there’s just a large range where you can do even less than you can vs Juri or Menat so she’s definitely very able in that match. Plus one of the few characters that can AA most of Ibuki’s air game. Unless you cross her up it doesn’t seem like its worth jumping. If it was that tough vs unoptimized Falke, probably not gonna get much better vs optimized one.

When’s the nerfs?

As someone who mains Akuma and have only been playing competitively since Vanilla SF4, this Akuma is way easier to deal with then SF4 Akuma. Can’t speak for older versions, which I did play but only at very low level.

SF4 Akuma was extremely difficult to pressure and had very good defense with neutral and back jump air fireball. I found him extremely annoying to fight. But I actually really like playing the Akuma mirror in SFV. Reading, getting around, or avoiding his forward jump air fireball isn’t too hard. His teleport is ass now and rarely gets used. He’s still one of the best characters in the game but I find it more fun to fight him than painful or annoying, unlike Ibuki or Guile for example.

I think Kolin handles Akuma well. Most top level Kolin’s would probably disagree with that but for me I think it’s 5.5

I found SFIV Akuma to be way easier to handle than this version. Less health, AA’s weren’t as scary, could jump out of demon. I had no problems because I subbed Yang who was a legit bad matchup for him and didn’t care about his run away game either.

Falke loses to juri just like all the other waifus except chun.
