SFV Lounge: SRK Cross Tag Battle

man im so annoyed with characters that work better online than they do offline. Laura,Abigail, bison,Ken and cammy can steal matches so easily when that “one sided” lag kicks in

Everytime I see Zangief in sfv, I get salty that he made it in over T Hawk. Aside from being a Native American stereotype based in the wrong country, T hawk is fuckin awesome. T Hawk U2 is the sickest looking move in the game. He’s also more relevant story wise if that means anything.

Zangief embodies what I hate about SFV the most; keep jumping in until you land that one hit into damage.

This is how a match should be played

That shit was hype. Condor spire was the hypest move in usf4 until they nerfed it.

TBF Zangief has always been about jumping in until he gets damage. There’s some match ups especially in SF2 where if he doesn’t jump he won’t get damage period.

Just in SFV everyone can turn into Gief as a viable strat

I’m start getting used to Ranked. Overcome the tilt initially wasn’t easy, but at the end I’ve learned more about playing as Zeku than months in Casuals. I realized my biggest problem is patience, the more I play calm without trying to get in at all costs the more I get wins. Good advice Jin

Makes sense. She looks good like this.

NP. Plus at your rank the best way to beat people is to let them kill themselves with mistakes that the other players in their rank dont know how to wait for and punish. Ranked holds you accountable for what you do right and wrong because if you do enough right things you win the match. If you’re making the same stupid mistakes, you lose and lose points. You’ll lose some fraud ass matches due to lag and all of that, but if you’re getting a decent connection and wait for people to hang themselves, you’ll win and move up.

That’s why Falke has been fun to play in casuals because the entire character is built around making people hang themselves. You’re not forcing yourself into frame trap with in and out orb stuff much or setting up v skill boom cuz you tired of playing from range. You just throw big buttons and jump ins and if one of them connects get a combo into whatever possible oki or super. If not, you just keep doing it until VT.

Most ranks can be summed as what people do right and more importantly, what they do wrong over and over again and can’t rank up because of.

I’ve had a bit of a Ranked epiphany lately as well.

Playing Ranked is a lot more indicative of a player’s skill level than Casuals or Battle Lounge.
There’s lower-level guys in Casual who could at least be Platinum, I know a few low level guys who intentionally derank themselves. I dunno why, but they do.

You’re missing out on a way to gauge your skill level if you don’t play Ranked, which can be confrontational, but at the same time you’re learning things in a very controlled environment (i.e. there are no people in their respective ranks who should be higher/lower, generally speaking), which means you aren’t confronted by a lot of variables. Like Jin said, people in their corresponding ranks do certain things right and wrong, which means you can focus on one aspect at a time, and actually learn.

Uh, that might be true for the lower and the higher ranks but Gold and Platinum are all over the place. I’ve lost to people at Super Gold that I couldn’t beat even if I spent 10 hours a day on SFV but I’ve also beaten Platinum players that had no clue about how to play (Karin players throwing out Ressenha full screen all day and so on).

Totally hit & miss.

I need to get back into Ranked. For the reasons you guys mention and also because I feel like with enough time and effort I can make it to Platinum.

Up to Gold is interesting because the ranks don’t require a lot of wins to jump leagues. I feel like the gap between Gold and Platinum is gonna give me a lot of games and opportunities to learn. Also I’m sure plenty of laggy shit matches but you take the good with the bad (and honestly I seem to be on the luckier side of match quality %s).

It’s character dependent as well.
People get hit by Ressenha into corner carry into panic all day.
They might not be good Karins, but they’re good enough for them to fraud their way into Platinum.
