SF5 will keep pumping seasons until the PS5 is ready to be a suitable host for the next SF. I don’t think that will come before 2021/22…
2 years after AE is a good date to repackage the release (so Dec 2019/Jan 2020), but it won’t be repackaged and sold only to be abandoned one year later. The final physical re-release of SF will be fit for another 2 years.
At best it’s an alright button vs other short ranged characters, but long ranged characters like Falke, Birdie and Menat aren’t really much affected by it. Akuma players pretty much dont bother to press it vs my Falke. Meaty knockdown situations are probably the only time they gain any confidence to use it.
Even in a shorter ranged matchup where it should be effective like Karin vs Akuma, Akuma is still going to be hitting his other buttons generally more often. It’s not quite as auto pilot to throw around as Bison’s psycho axe or s.HP. Which is a good thing.
No need for another physical version, that wasn’t Capcom said before. I think S5 will be the last SFV season, after that probably we’re getting just a rebalance or two. With the messy start SFV had thanks to his release date, I think SF6 ain’t coming that soon.
Isn’t autopilot, but that button is good up-close, you mentioned 3 MU’s where Akuma has to force his way in. 3 out of+30 isn’t that bad tbh. Isn’t stupid like Bison Axe because Akuma has other ways to harass his opponents.
I mentioned those matches mainly becuase there’s no way he can meme hit them from far away with their ranged toolset. If I were to list every character that far outranges and makes that button unnecessary it’d be more like 10 to 12 characters. Then top that off with it being overrated vs shorter ranged characters also.
Like I said though, even closer ranged characters there’s just not much reason to press c.HP compared to his other buttons. Like with Tokido it’s to the point where he’s mainly using it for oki. It’s not stupid because it literally does not have the range of other CC buttons and is easier to whiff punish than other CC buttons.
Like this is a matchup theoretically Akuma should be able to burn c.HP’s in, but basically doesn’t bother to use it much at all. Footsie range is mostly s.MK, s.HP, c.MK. c.HP is plus 3, but more often better to just use c.MP which is faster start up, also plus 3 and has similar conversions.
DJ still hasn’t learned that correlation doesn’t equal causation. I remember complaining about ex dr in s1 and he was telling me to just AA it… it wasn’t hard… sigh.
I use the button a lot. It’s good. It’s BEST against characters that have either slow walkspeed or slow normals, it’s great against characters that have both. Karin isnt one of those characters, but I’d probably still be able to use it in that matchup.
I don’t understand how (it’s not as derp as insert move) is an argument… because no one said it was as derp as (insert move)…
I don’t understand how (it’s not as derp as insert move) in this matchup… is an argument. No one was calling it out in those specific matchups iirc.
SF5 is pretty straight forward, season 1 to 2 was the only outliner. From 2 -3 it’s pretty easy to see a character and know if they are going to be good right out the box.
Now unless they do some major changes to season 4 like they did with mechanics and characters in season 2 then expect the same “meta”
The only way that changes is if 2 or 3 of s4 characters are really strong at zoning. Even a group of characters with strong netural probably wouldn’t shift the meta because of how the game works in general.
I say this because all season long people was like " give X character some time"
You don’t really need to do that in SF5 like at all… What you see is really what you get.
The only character that falls even close to that this season is G and that’s because of all the different properties of the character.
Also he’ll probably be buff and way too strong next season…smh
Yeah I was just watching that earlier. SFV brings honesty, you just have to go down the tier list LOL.
I really liked this match also.
Definitely one of her tougher matches but Uryo did pretty well. I noticed he didn’t always tend to follow up a hit s.HP even after clear hits with counter hit sign. I know HK tatsu can whiff at like max ranges from s.HP so I guess he didn’t wanna push it. Theoretically if you can find a way to land s.HP or b+HP into HK tatsu regularly you can push them into the corner pretty easily with standing 50/50s after each hit. No worrying about ground oki.
Not having a ranged, plus medium button does hurt her a bit as pretty much all of the top 5 has a button like that or a medium that constantly keeps them at their optimal space like Menat s.MP.
