I am maintaining a 60% ~65% win ratio on casuals. I guess I will hit ranked this weekend to try to close the gap towards the diamond rank on my PS4 account. Dunno if I will be able to acquire ultra plat this weekend, but worth taking that shot.

I’m getting close to Ultra Diamond now but I’m nervous about playing again because I’m afraid I’ll go on a losing streak. When you don’t have much else going on in your life besides the usual routines of life, shit like this can really matter lol.
Like I’m not ever going to make a deep run at my local because the guys there are too good. But please just let me have that shiny new emblem next to my CFN name before End Game comes out in theater.

Honest opinion - no jokes . I think you’re about same level as me, You have better reactions than me ( young fucker) , I’ve got slightly better funds ( old fucker).
Either way we can both play at a solid level.
If you are running above 60% you’ve still got levels to go. Diamond should be doable.

I felt this was pretty relevant right now. Just swap out the American in this video for Jin and the European for Highland.
(that and I’m really looking forward to seeing Ryan Hart stomp Rip this weekend. Except I’m off to South Africa with my girl for the next 9 days so I won’t get to see it live )

Yesterday I fired up SFV on an alt account I have so that my local can play UNIST, I would buy a PS4 copy if I had any idea where to find it in retail, because buying online in Taiwan is all shades of fucking weird.
Anyway
fresh account with the idea of playing on it a Shoto, either Sakura or Sagat and see what rank can I acchieve casually playing them started playing, after about 12 ranked games I was bored, switched characters.
Mika, 1 game not fun
Laura, 2 games not fun
Ibuki, realized I don’t know how to play Ibuki, lost 2-1 to an like ultra bronze Akuma
Menat, realized I forgot how to Menat, went to training mode, couldn’t remember VT2 combos, couldn’t bother to look them up.
Juri, 3 games bored out of my skull.What I realized is, I don’t have a single character in this game I truly enjoy playing.
I kinda sorta appreciate the challenge you face as Sagat and I like winning as Chun, but I hate losing with her.
I think I don’t have a character I 100% enjoy in this game, and it makes me sad.

Had no idea I archived some of my super old replays from when I was Super Platinum. Those were fun to watch. Had a few from Ultra Diamond where I got destroyed as well. It’s always nice to revisit these matches.

I really have issues fighting Kage.
How do you stop his jumps? His jump goes really far, it crosses up when I don’t expect it to, his dive kick is really good and he can do a fireball and bait a dp.
I should probably play way closer than I am.
What kind of dumb face expression is this?
I can’t offer any tips but I found this post a little funny considering you’re playing Akuma.
But then again going air-to-air against Akuma is the best option for quite a few characters so maybe that’s the answer for Kage as well. It’s an approach that only loses to the air fireball in both cases.

Two months ago diamond rank levels were leagues over my SFV skills, but something clicked hard thanks to all the coaching and now it feels well within reach.
I should just do it and get it at once. If I put in serious effort, it will be a matter of a week or so to get there.
