What’s your values on his throw range? According to FAT it says its in the second tier. Which is the same range that characters like Menat, Falke and Urien have which isn’t bad. Especially with that walk speed and the ability to defensively use it while sitting on 3 frame. You have to get to like Birdie, Gief or Bison to get higher than that value.
Mmm, I’d say that’s massively offset by his ability to put you in real and fake situations where you have to guess.
I’d put Rog on A tier throw game, only Bison, Cammy and Karin would possibly be better.

I should definitely clarify that I don’t think it makes Rog’s throw game bad, far from it. It’s just a personal gripe, much like him being charge is. It visually looks like I should be in throw range but I never am

FAT says Juri’s range is the lowest value also but you’d have to let me know how bad it actually is. She’s one of the characters where some always say it’s bad and then others say it’s good.

Yup. At least FAT says he’s in the same tier as Falke and Menat which makes sense. They usually give the zoner characters some throw range to defensively protect themselves if people are trying to pressure them. If you screw up a string vs Falke, Menat or Sim it’s usually ending in a defensive toss and usually a back one into the corner.
That’s why I always try to have my traps tight vs Sim because that back throw into the corner is coming if you screw up.
Sagat is up there with G. The two characters I notice that scoop my shimmies.
…actually nvm. If we’re talking about raw values, I had Balrog pegged at 28.6 training squares and Ed’s at 27.
It’s just visual. Balrog’s body is so bulky and he reaches so far that it just feels like it’s shorter than Ed’s. I keep trying to grab too early.

Why isn’t there a way to drop a server match is beyond me. The game knows when you are through the server, so give us an option to cancel the match, ffs.
That’s part of why Bison is strong too. He has Gief/Birdie level regular throw range according to fat, but also has 3 frame to mash on. You screw up you’re taking the 3 frame or the back throw. If you had Bison in the corner, welp now you’re there. You need to have your shimmies super tight vs him or play a character with strong ass back walk like Sakura, Vega or Cammy to keep out of that shit
Juri has poor throw range? I’m always surprised by how far she can grab me. Maybe it’s the animation…
I figured its just her strong forward walk that gives the illusion of strong throw range. Her micro walk throw game is strong with her Ken level forward walk.
I felt the same way until I saw data supposedly showing that her range is short
It’s not just the walk, Juri’s standing animation is leaning backwards so the actual throw range extends far past where her model is, giving the appearance of a long throw range. It’s like why I think Balrog’s is short when it isn’t
