If we look at Capcoms record, this will go horrible wrong.
Also, it’s difficult to determine which SF game is objectively the best. What parameters do you use? Depth? Sales? Pros’ approval? And how do you account for the different eras in which the games launched?
My personal favorite is HF, but I would say SSFIV has a good shout for being the objectively best SF game.
ST and Alpha 2.
I use “what game allows me the most to be boring” as objective parameter.
Sales are a poor mans excuse to determin how good a game is.
Objectively best? Unless we are talking about something that involves hard facts like sales or netcode its all subjective.
As long as ST lives, 4 cant be the best of anything.
Dont @ me.
If you’re going to use parameters outside of the gameplay to argue the “best game” then my favorite game could be SF EX 2 because I love the music or some shit.
Objectively trying to pick the best SF game is stupid because they all are their own thing with tastes and styles that will cater to different people. That’s more interesting than trying to shoehorn your SF with your favorite mechanics/engine and characters.
Zero 3 is what it is because of its good things and faults
3S is what it is because of its good things and faults
ST is what it is because of its good things and faults
etc.
Basically what Jin said except 3S cant be the best because hadoukens dont work.
It also doesn’t have Blanka, Elf, or Rashid
If you get into picking the best/most pure SF game it sucks.
Mainly because then you get honest old men who only like HF because ST has cheap comeback supers. I mean it’s nice and interesting that that’s why they like HF, but can’t get the kids to play pure HF Ryu vs HF Guile all day. ST can be a basic bitch game depending on what character is used, but the supers add a little something. Same with A2 which is even more of a basic bitch game.
Sure, different strokes and all that, but few people would disagree with (for example) SFII being better than SFI. Personal taste matters, but only to a certain degree. To what degree exactly is debatable. There are very real factors that can be used to at least somewhat accurately judge a game’s quality.
If you’re going for casual aspects you could pin it down more, but even then I think it’s stupid to argue still. Better to just have people like what they like.
Is that the same answer you would give to someone who earnestly believes NRS games are objectively better than Capcom games?
I actually havent played much HF. I was out living life and seeing the world to spend my lunch money at arcades on the weekend.
TECHNICALLY
She can do that already
It requires the opponent to be crouching and a micro-walk 1 frame link, but she can do that. Can even do the stmp target combo if you feel your execution is on point
But wouldn’t hurt to make that a regular consistent bnb combo for her
I prefer seeing people getting cheesed in CE or Hyper SF2 any way. Ain’t no cheese ain’t no fun.
If that’s what they wanna believe that’s fine. NRS people are known for having interesting views. I think whatever you think is the best should be the best for you.
If you think VF is better than everything, congratulations.
KI3.
(This is a complete sentence, discourse)
Lmao I like Kage v Boxer wayyy more. His st. Lp is 4 frames and decent range to punish bad dash punches or take back your turn and v-skill blows his shit up something fierce.
That’s what I was thinking. Sounds like the move.
It’s probably the most honest pre-SFIV game, if I conveniently ignore Gief’s 10-0 matchup against Dictator and Blanka’s 9-1 against Vega.
-
Anybody who thinks that can go kick rocks.
-
SF games have a tight core and then really crazy different top ends.
The best SF is really about what type of stuff you like. There’s easily an SF for everybody at this point.
