with 3d printing being a thing now i wonder why not more people make these kind of statues for a cheaper price.

Unless something changed very recently, a 3D printed version of similiar quality would probably be even more expensive.
Most 3D printers operate at a relatively low quality. They are also a very inefficient way to make pretty much anything. They trade efficiency and quality for versatility.
