So… my opinion.
I wouldn’t use it against most zoners. VT2 is really, really dumb, and your HP+HK while in trigger is projectile immune.
I only use VT1 at the moment against characters I want to push out. For example, Gief has a really hard time getting in on Kolin, and with VT1 I can force him all the way out quite easily.
I also occasionally use it against guile, as his booms can’t be VT2 (HP+HK) on reaction. And sometime you need to get in.

Trying to think of a secondary that covers Ed’s worst match-ups, which at the moment I think are Guile, Menat and Balrog. Menat covers Guile, mirrors herself but gets steamrolled by Rog. Guile probably doesn’t work against any of them.
It’s an odd combo of bad matches to cover.
I think all 3 of those would suit you well.
But what do I know. I’m terrible at predicting my own characters, I shouldn’t comment on others.
I’ve tried Rog, I can’t use him.
Trying to think of someone that somehow covers Guile, Menat, and Balrog, but I’m looking at the roster and drawing a blank. Rashid maybe? I dunno

Menat is still fine. She does have to commit to things more frequently than Ed does (at at least the way play him).

With Balrog I meant, you are already good with that hyper precise spacing style pressure that balrog also thrives on.

I know this is a joke but Vega sort of reminds me Venom or Carnage. I always liked the crazy but enthusiastic murderers. Idk if he’s killed anyone but he is definitely a violent psychopath. And besides masks and blades of all varieties are dope.

Gotcha. Yeah I know well the pain of trying to react to booms with an unsafe projectile invincible move with Laura. Basically just had to hard read it.
Still might be worth trying against Sagat just to see how it works. I’m not sure where his fireballs sit in terms of how reactable they are with VT2 ice stab. Looking forward to figuring it all out.
