You can’t link to mediums in on normal hit in SFV, but you still get conversions. Just with characters I am not familiar with Kolin gets EX hands, Zeku gets shoulder. These both lead to reasonably strong oki situations… from a crouch tech.

In addition, in a crouch tech situation, the light button will frequently be a counter hit, allowing some of those same SF4 style links.

You need to chain a lot of those to get a combo, and chaining from a cr.tech OS is kinda hard. In SFIV you could link out of most cr.lks

  • Fired the entire Dev team in favor of capable people
  • replaced the PR Guy with someone who knows what his job is
  • Fix the Netcode
  • Fix Hit and Hurtboxes accordingly
  • Removed Abitrash,Rashidooooooo and Devour-hour from them game

Nerf

  • Remove V-Trigger
  • Increase Meter gain
  • Buff V-Reversals, with full I frames,speed them up, make them unified -10 on block, knockdown on hit and cost 50 Meter for the entire cast.
  • Added Just Defence to the game
  • Add Potemkin to the game.

It’s funny because one of the design leads was a GG player.

If we take out the V System then that is the right way to alpha Counters.

Heck, taking out the Vsystem and just running everything through the super bar would probably be an improvement.

Explains why half the game mechanics are half assed anime mechanics.

Honestly most of the stuff is just “lets take something like GG has and water it down to fit into SF!”
And it doesn’t fit at all, watering these things down takes the fun out of them.

I’m not sure it’s feasible to hit confirm a single counterhit cr.LK in this way, you see people do it with wakeup jab from time to time, but the reason for that is that most jabs are plus anyway, so even if the jab is blocked, it becomes their turn.

cr.LKs are different, they frequently are 0 or negative on block, meaning if the cr.LK is blocked your turn is over.

On top of that, most meaty setups don’t sit right on top of the opponent, if your cr.LK pushes the opponent back even slightly then most characters aren’t going to get completion from it

Yeah, the strength of cr.lk’s in this game isn’t proportional to what you could get in payoff with IV. It’d be way more reminiscent of 3S cr.tech.

Yeah I’m not even saying it would never happen. I’m saying it would be much less frequent and less rewarding. Off the top of my head you’d maybe see chun get ex legs from a crouch tech, so it’s not nothing. However the potential gains both from a defense standpoint and an offense perspective are good. I’d love for CCs to become that answer to delays they were meant to be.

V-skill meter gain should not be buffed until all characters gain a proper way to combo and use their vskills.

Some vskills are almost core of the character’s gameplay while others are situational.

Some characters play the game and others lose at the game to gain the same resource,v-meter.

That’s why vskils generating meter on block is so dumb and unbalanced.Easy abusable by some,while the rest just have to put up with it.

Anybody who wants crouch tech back is a bum.
