Birdie is still new to fuudo and it was too much to try to handle all at once vs tokido. Even if they played alot before I doubt tokido has really resorted to DF and air fireball mix ups.
Like I said it was too much for fuudo to try to handle at once. A couple well placed bull horns would have probably made tokido stop.
Birdie with all his nerfs is probably the best character in the game right now for the least amount of work.
Him then rashid
Akuma and cammy
Everyone else.
Its crazy that for how good akuma is no one really gets results with him. Outside of tokido how many top 10 placing akumas are there? I can’t think of any.
Haitani had better results with Necalli.
AngryBird is using Zeku as much as Akuma.
XSK has similar results he had with Ryu. Same as ChrisT and Takamura with Ken.
Snake, Sako and Momochi dropped Akuma.
Okani and NL are decent, but a tier below best players.
Might have missed someone…
I think PR Rog said it best about Akuma. He is a difficult character to play. If I was not already satisfied with Ibuki and Falke i would not want to be just picking up Akuma now.
Just because he has scrubby stuff doesnt mean he doesnt also have difficult stuff to master to be tops with him. Which is why Tokido is the only one who gets CPT top results with him.
Akin to how Ogawa was the main Zato/Eddie for so long. You had to be on his level to get the most out of the character
Akuma is difficult to master more than he’s difficult to pick and play. People with a bit of SF experience can do well with him, but only Tokido mastered and controls everything of the character. Then we all know Akuma will always have something cheap to use/abuse, nothing new here.
Yeah the people who play Akuma just because he has scrubby things plateau as eventually people have answers to all the scrubby things. Aka average CFN warrior Akuma. Then its more about c.mk fireball placement and s.hp confirms and knowing all the okis and setups that help separate into master level Akumas.
I might be wrong, but i think that Tokido has the results as he wants them the most.
He really cares about the game and that was visible since season 1. Nuckledu was like that in the first few years of SFV.
Punk has raw talent and better reactions.
I don’t quite have a any stakes on any new character that may come out, since I already have found my way in SFV with the pew pew lady with a side of Gief, but getting news and announcements help generating hype and interest to the game.
So Capcom’s current silence regarding SFV can be a bit deafening.
Yeah, that’s one big issue. We never really had that problem with the SF4 updates. Once a new disk came out, you went to grinding and figuring things out. Doesn’t help that characters have less tools now. But people also aren’t grinding important situations either.
Yeah I’m fine with the roster number and most I feel I have a lot of options for characters I like to play… I only really want Makoto or Gorilla, but I can live without them and care more about improvements in other areas of the game (netcode pls)
Capcom’s utter silence is just grating though, wish they could say anything about announcements and such
I don’t have the numbers, but outside of North America I don’t know that MK and SF are competing for the same audience.
Pretty sure whatever is going on at Capcom is down to them not having their own act together. Or they think that officially calling game development ended would kill sales of the cosmetic dlc, which is probably accurate.
