Well, I’m pretty sure I’m going to g 0/3:
-Its’ almost certain Smug will use G once in the Top 8.
-Tokido has plenty of galaxy brain level opponents to wake up CA him.
-And Punk looks completely unstoppable.
I couldn’t be happier to be wrong though.
Its interesting because if you look at the patch note changes for ex PP
EX Psycho Schneide:
- Increased the damage taken for an attack that hits during the move’s duration by 1.2x
- Reduced the collision boxes in the vertical direction only during the active frames
- ** Changed so that it will move forward if canceled from normal moves only **
- Eased the combo count for the 3rd hit
It actually theoeretically is easier to make ex PP and regular PP hit jump ins that are near Falke. What youre complaining about they actually have slightly fixed.
The real issue is

EX PP just starts up really slow. 12 frame start up just to get to the first active frame and probably doesnt angle high until like the 14th or so frame.

Gs j.dmp is basically a somewhat OG Gief splash. It changes his jump arc so he lands closer than his other jumps. Its also his main cross up so its extremely threatening once in cross up range. It could cross you up or it could shorten up early and hit you in front. If you dont know the ranges youre already RIP.
In the corner dont even bother with EX PP vs splash. In midscreen once hes in splash range you have to be careful about your grounded AAs.
As far as that corner situation you can see easily that you had plenty of free idle frames to move around and do what you want. You could have easily air thrown him or jumped out of the corner. That splash is fake as hell and theres no reason to press slow grounded anti airs at it. If the splash is real you gotta hold it but if its fake at all jump or air to air can win.
Basically once G is jumping that close to you you have to go up in the air. Anything you do on the ground is likely to lose and you might as well be in the air to reposition yourself

I have to say I really liked Daigo’s matches. He has developed this weird style that doesn’t fit into any category. One moment he’s playing defensive Guile, then he’s playing aggressive Guile and then he’s just walking around the stage for a stroll and catching the Evo champ off-guard. Really fun to watch and I don’t say that often about Guile or this game in general.

Its actually kind of close to how he played Guile in CvS2. Guile could get all up in your guts hitting buttons and forcing you to hold booms.
Kind of funny how Daigo makes people forget he isn’t about getting all up in your guts. The man played ST Rog, A3 Gen/Guy, switched Yun in AE…He ain’t about coming knocking or your skull.
