Otherwise what he said sounds mostly positive for Menat. She’s still cheap and has good matchup spread overall. Plus best part about her is just still being the best character at winning without having to use v trigger or really having to engage in most of her matchups. Which is why J.Wong’s Menat should prove to be pretty powerful this season as he gets his shit together.
In the end he explained that this game is getting into USFIV levels of territory where it’s going to be very difficult to win with just one character. You’ll want to have more than one character you’re proficient with that covers other matchups.
In the new stage with the Final Fighter characters, Abigail is doing a stupid little dance shaking his hips. Capcom PLEASE stop it with that dumb cheesiness. I need some dark and gritty MK to wash down that stupid dance.

He didn’t use the word worst but it seems implied - “A hard matchup for Menat is Mika.” Unless that was a yoda translation then it seems to me like he’e using her as the primary example of a bad matchup for her.
which makes perfect sense to me. tons of ways to avoid/bypass her normals, can sit fullscreen against her comfortably, a “get in free” vtrigger which punishes menat’s gameplan in particular, and powerful looping mixups if she ever gets in.
The FGC has been Pavlov’d.

SF is a cheesy series. The Alpha series was fully of cheesiness like Zangief and Blanka firing up big Brazilian fishes and Cody running from the cops like a Nickelodeon cartoon. Most of SFIV’s new characters were goofy or really eccentric messes.
Abigail dancing is nothing new.

Yeah, but for Sako that matchup issue is mostly irrelevant since he already plays another character that can deal with Mika’s stuff. Mika unlike Rashid or Ibuki is extremely easy to deal with just by switching characters.
Ibuki was already better than Mika in S3 and already beat Menat pretty clean. Infiltration was switching to Juri just to beat certain characters. In the end Menat is typical polarizing limb character and that means you have to have other characters to play with her in tournament. You can’t solo limb characters in double elim tournament setting.
Mika v menat is probably my favorite matchup to play in the game next to boxer v menat or Falke. Lmao
it honestly confused me that sako didn’t switch vs momochi after the first match. sticking out the menat mirror vs jwong makes sense since he doesn’t seem to have a real counterpick for her. how is zeku vs birdie?
I didn’t think so originally, but I do think menat was over nerfed. People said she was top 5, but she had the most bad matchups.
Menat wants to play love taps and perfect neutral every round while she runs into shit like Mika or boxer out here trying to duff a bitch. God forbid you screw up vs bison, rashid or that rando Necalli main that’s about to go ham on your ass.

doable but not great. Depends on how solid the birdie is. If its a Birdie confident in their normals and throws cans…then sort of rip. You aren’t dead in the water but at minimum 6-4 Birdie.
at the very least i’d like to see her vt2 be made to actually exist and her antiairs get made a bit more consistent and less likely to trade. with those things i’d feel like menat would be in an acceptable place to me

I am sorry what? Menat VT2 is very strong. It sees 0 play because VT1 one is just one of the 3 best VT is the game.

Some main issues that could be fixed easily: the timer is way too fast, and reloading is too inconvenient. Even with those fixed though it would still be just fucking terrible at making any kind of a comeback happen
I’ll be honest with you, I have no idea wtf VT2 for Menat does other than throw some wacky projectiles.
Is it good for anything?
He can’t really throw cans vs O.Zeku, Koku and Flip from the right distances can counter them. I’m more worried about Birdie’s normals like st.HP from mid-ing, but if we get a KD into Y.Zeku then good luck to Birdie, especially if he’s near the corner. Best thing a Birdie can do vs Zeku is plain lame as possible trying to force Zeku to stay where Birdie normals are dominant,but isn’t that easy. VT2 is busted, I need to work on it these days.
Tips: Birdie cr.MP usually owns every jump attempt, but if you jump at him with j.MP Zeku can beat that AA clean and combo right after in both forms. Works even against Mika cr.MP and Akuma b.HP, they can beat/trade that jump attempt only doing their AA a bit late.
